11047198 · 2021-06-29 · ·

A tubing hanger assembly for suspending a tubing string within a wellbore is provided. The tubing hanger assembly comprises a tubing head, a tubing hanger and a tubing head adapter. The tubing hanger and the tubing head adapter have aligned through-openings such that a chemical injection line and a communications line may each be passed through respective through-openings, thereby enabling an operator to have access to the wellbore. Beneficially, the assembly also comprises a bottom flange that secures the tubing head adapter to the tubing head once the tubing hanger and connected string of production tubing are landed in the wellbore. The bottom flange may be rotated so that ports in the bottom flange may be aligned with ports in an upper flange in the tubing head. A method for hanging a string of production tubing in a wellbore is also provided herein.

A tubing hanger assembly for suspending a tubing string within a wellbore. The tubing hanger assembly comprises a tubing head and a tubing hanger. The tubing hanger lands within the tubing head to gravitationally support a string of production tubing. The tubing hanger includes an auxiliary port extending from the upper end to the lower end. The auxiliary port receives unsheathed conductive wires from a power cable. To secure the conductive wires within the auxiliary port and to prevent shorting, the conductive wires are placed within a unique disc stack. The tubing hanger assembly further includes a bottom plate residing along the lower end of the tubular body and securing the disc stack. Thus, the tubing hanger assembly is arranged to receive a continuous power cable from a power source into the wellbore, through the auxiliary port, without the conductive wires being spliced.

A wellhead is provided comprising a fluid control tree, a tubing head spool, a tubing hanger, a back pressure valve, an ESP wireline cable hanger, and a tubing head adapter. The tubing head adapter comprises a back pressure valve profile that complements and engages an outer surface profile of the back pressure valve to fix a position of the back pressure valve in at least one direction along the longitudinal axial bore of the wellhead. The tubing head adapter comprises a cable hanger profile that complements and engages an outer surface profile of the ESP wireline cable hanger to fix a position of the ESP wireline cable hanger in at least one direction along the longitudinal axial bore of the wellhead. Methods of operating the wellhead are also provided.

Disconnectable pressure-preserving electrical connector and method of installation

The present disclosure provides a dis-connectable wellhead hanger arrangement permitting a pig tail set of electrical conductors to be inserted within the wellhead hanger arrangement which seals against the wellhead hanger upon separation of an electrical power cable; or alternatively, through an exterior pressure-preserving housing. If the power cable separates from the production tubing for any reason, the compressively fit plugs disconnect the power cable from the pathway leaving the electrical mandrel sealed within the wellhead hanger or housing, thereby sealing the wellhead hanger from loss of fluid after separation.

Cable pack-off apparatus for well having electrical submersible pump

A cable pack-off apparatus for a wellbore is provided. The apparatus is designed to threadedly connect to the auxiliary port of a tubing head, over the wellbore, and to receive a power cable. The power cable provides power to an ESP downhole. The cable pack-off apparatus provides a self-sealing mechanism in the event that the power cable must be pulled (or becomes pulled) from the wellbore, such as in the event of parted tubing. A packing element sealingly receives the power cable within a housing of the apparatus. A method for self-sealing a tubing head over a wellbore is also provided herein.

CASING HANGER ACTUATED LOAD SHOULDER

A wellhead system includes a first position casing hanger and a second position casing hanger, arranged within a wellbore. The second position casing hanger is positioned axially higher and stacked on the first position casing hanger, and a weight of the second position casing hanger is supported, at least in part but less than entirely, by the first position casing hanger and, at least in part but less than entirely, by an actuated load shoulder transferring the force into a high pressure housing. The actuated load shoulder includes a load ring having a hanger side profile and a housing side profile, the load ring is adapted to engage a hanger profile formed in the second position casing hanger and a housing profile formed in the high pressure housing upon activation via the first position casing hanger.

Containment systems for sealing a pass-through in a well, and methods therefore

A system formed to provide sealed passage through the wellhead for cables, lines, tubes or the like for down-hole applications. A unitary or split/wrap around hanger having a main seal is formed to receive and provide sealed passage therethrough of power and control cables, lines, conduits, or other threaded components having various configurations and applications. Hinged side doors to engage and support various configuration (via interchangeable inserts) and/or various size cable, line, conduit, etc in the hanger. The present invention teaches permanent as well as temporary applications, can be used in other applications besides hangers (for example, down-hole packers) and is designed to provide a low to medium pressure seal. Also taught is a bowl cap, tubing adapter or other surface component with adapters to allow sealed pass-through utilizing a compression seal.

Tubing hanger alignment device

Systems and methods for landing a tubing hanger in a wellhead and then orienting a tree (or spool, or flowline connection body) relative to the tubing hanger while landing the tree on the wellhead are provided. This alignment is accomplished without the use of either a tubing spool or a BOP stack with an orientation pin. The tubing hanger alignment devices may be used to orientate the tree as the tree is landed so that the couplings and stabs between the tree and the tubing hanger line up with each other just at the moment of landing.

Flange system

A technique enables maintenance of sufficient clearance between a wellhead and, for example, a mobile rig. The technique facilitates support of a cable, e.g. an antenna suspension cable, at the wellhead without detrimentally affecting the desired clearance. According to an embodiment, a flange system is used in combination with a cable clamp assembly at a wellhead. The flange system may comprise a flange having a connector portion configured for coupling with the wellhead. The flange also comprises a cylinder portion coupled to the connector portion such that the cylinder portion extends into a corresponding bore of the wellhead. The cable clamp assembly is configured to clamp around and support a cable extending down through the wellhead. The cable clamp assembly is supported within the cylinder portion of the flange such that the cable clamp assembly is at least partially disposed within the wellhead.

SUBSEA EQUIPMENT ALIGNMENT DEVICE

Systems and methods for coupling subsea tubular members together are provided. An apparatus may be used to properly orient and/or provide communication between a first subsea tubular member that is being landed on a second subsea tubular member. An apparatus for coupling subsea tubular members may include an alignment sub and a corresponding alignment member. The alignment sub includes: a generally cylindrical body having one or more fluid, electric, or fiber optic lines extending therethrough, one or more couplings coupled to at least one end of the alignment sub, and an orientation profile disposed on a surface of the alignment sub. The alignment member has a profile designed to interface with the orientation profile of the alignment sub. One of the alignment sub and the alignment member remains stationary while the other rotates relative to the stationary structure.
