The downhole tool further includes a recess, formed in an outer diameter of the cam. The downhole tool includes a locking mechanism, positioned at least partially within the tool body. The locking mechanism includes a tool key. The locking mechanism also includes a biasing member, the biasing member driving the tool key toward the retracted position.

TREE ORIENTATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A RESOURCE EXTRACTION SYSTEM

A method for aligning a tree within a resource extraction system includes disposing a riser system on a wellhead of the resource extraction system without utilizing a mechanical alignment system to circumferentially align the riser system with the wellhead. The method also includes disposing a tubing hanger at a landed position within the wellhead. In addition, the method includes disposing an orientation mechanism on the wellhead. The orientation mechanism includes an alignment feature configured to engage a corresponding alignment feature of the tree. Furthermore, the method includes moving the tree toward the wellhead such that the alignment feature of the tree engages the alignment feature of the orientation mechanism to approximately establish a target circumferential orientation of the tree relative to the tubing hanger.

A hanger running tool configured to set a hanger assembly within a wellhead includes a rotatable tool configured to couple to the hanger assembly via a first threaded interface having a first orientation. The hanger running tool also includes an outer sleeve coupled to the rotatable tool, and the outer sleeve includes one or more slots configured to engage a drive ring coupled to the hanger assembly via a second threaded interface having a second orientation opposite the first orientation. Rotation of the rotatable tool in a first direction is configured to loosen the rotatable tool from the hanger assembly while causing the one or more slots of the outer sleeve to drive the drive ring in the first direction, thereby tightening the drive ring about the hanger assembly and causing the drive ring to drive a lock ring radially-outwardly to engage a corresponding recess of the wellhead.

The split drive mandrel receives and engages at least a portion of a tubing hanger. The disclosure also provides a torque release tubing hanger for a tubing rotator comprising an outer housing, a tubing mandrel suspended from the outer housing, and a locking swivel rotatably coupled to the outer housing. The locking swivel is movable between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. A bi-directional coupling is also provided.
