OPEN WATER RECOVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD

A wellbore system includes an upper body, a lower body, removably coupled to the upper body, and a passage extending through both the upper body and the lower body, the passage being aligned and extending through an interface between the upper body and the lower body. The wellbore system also includes a latch piston, confined to the lower body, the latch piston being moveable responsive to an applied pressure via the passage. The wellbore system further includes a latch piston retaining ring, confined to the lower body.

Rod hang-off system

A hang-off system for suspending a rod string within a well is provided. In one embodiment, such a system includes a hang-off ram of a blowout preventer and a hang-off sub sized to fit within a bore of the blowout preventer. The hang-off ram and the hang-off sub have complementary surfaces that enable the hang-off ram to engage the hang-off sub within the blowout preventer to facilitate suspension of a sucker-rod string in a well from the hang-off sub. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

Tubing head spool with adapter bushing

Apparatus and methods provide for a tubing head spool that may be disposed in a wellhead during drilling or other wellbore operations, after which a tubing hanger adapter may be disposed within the tubing head spool for hanging tubing. Methods include installing a tubing head spool onto a wellhead, installing a blow out preventer onto the tubing head spool, drilling a well by running downhole tools and at least one casing string through the tubing head spool, running a tubing hanger adapter bushing through the blow out preventer and into the tubing head spool, running a tubing string into the well, and landing out the tubing string using a tubing hanger configured to hang within the tubing hanger adapter bushing.

Radially energized hanger system

A system including a hanger system configured to support a tubular, including a hanger body with first and second axial sides, and an aperture extending between the first and second axial sides, wherein the hanger body is configured to receive the tubular through the aperture, a first retaining ring configured to couple to the tubular, and a first support ring configured to couple to the first axial side of the hanger body and radially energize the first retaining ring.

Methods of Gripping a Tubular with a Slip Device

A method according to one or more aspects of the disclosure includes actuating a slip device to grip a tubular extending through a bore, the slip device has an upper set of slips spaced axially above a lower set of slips and the actuating includes radially moving in unison the upper and the lower sets of slips from an open position to an extended position gripping the tubular.

IMPROVED SEAL FOR A WELL

A pressure energised seal for a wellhead, in particular, provides a seal of an annulus between an inner wellhead casing member and an outer wellhead casing member. The wellhead incorporates a clamping arrangement whereby the outer member is arranged to be deflected radially inwardly in order to grip and secure the inner member within the bore of the outer member. Also, a seal for use in such a clamping arrangement. In particular, the seal includes a sealing lip which locates within a groove provided in the outer clamping surface of the inner member. A seal is activated and created as the outer member is clamped inwardly since this causes the outer member to compress the inner member and to reduce the diameter of the inner member. Also, a well and a method of sealing an annulus in a well.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FULL BORE TUBING HEAD SPOOL

A system includes a tubing head spool (THS) installed in a non-plugged wellbore, the THS having a bore diameter to permit passage of one or more wellbore components corresponding to one or more wellbore components that pass through an associated blowout preventer (BOP). The system also includes an orientation sleeve arranged within the THS and installed, the orientation sleeve being positioned and aligned within the THS via one or more engagement features mating with one or more orientation features within the bore.

SNUB FRIENDLY WELLHEAD HANGER

A method for snubbing a wellhead hanger into a wellhead is provided. In one embodiment, a snubbing method includes snubbing a tubing hanger into a wellhead housing from a snubbing unit. Snubbing the tubing hanger into the wellhead housing can include lowering the tubing hanger into a bore of the wellhead housing under pressure and allowing fluid in the bore to pass along an exterior of the tubing hanger to balance fluid pressure above and below the tubing hanger as the tubing hanger is lowered. The tubing hanger can be positioned at a location in the bore of the wellhead housing, which can be elastically deformed to grip and secure the tubing hanger at the location in the bore. Additional methods, systems, and devices are also disclosed.

DOUBLE GRIP RETENTION FOR WELLBORE INSTALLATIONS

A wellhead assembly with a gripping device for securing multiple components of the wellhead assembly is provided. In one embodiment, a system includes a wellhead housing mounted above a hollow body, such that an axial bore extends through the wellhead housing and the hollow body, and a wellhead hanger positioned within the axial bore. The system also includes a clamp that provides a first grip that secures the wellhead housing to the hollow body and a second grip that secures the wellhead hanger within the axial bore. The second grip includes elastic deformation, via the clamp, of at least one of the wellhead housing or the hollow body into tight engagement with an exterior of the wellhead hanger to secure the wellhead hanger at the location within the axial bore. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.
