Provided is a downhole tool. The downhole tool, in one aspect, includes an isolation system for placement at a junction between a first wellbore and a secondary wellbore. In at least one aspect, the isolation system includes an elongated tubular, the elongated tubular having an opening connecting an interior of the elongated tubular and an exterior of the elongated tubular; and a slot located in the elongated tubular, the slot spanning the opening. In at least one aspect, the isolation system further includes an isolation sleeve located within the isolation system, the isolation sleeve configured to slide within the slot to either isolate the interior of the elongated tubular from the exterior of the elongated tubular or provide access between the interior of the elongated tubular and the exterior of the elongated tubular, and an I-shaped seal located in an annulus between the elongated tubular and the isolation sleeve.

The downhole tool, in at least this aspect, includes first and second I-shaped seals on opposing sides of the opening, each of the first and second I-shaped seals including first and second opposing members, and a central member separating the first and second opposing members, the central member defining first and second fluid cavities.

An example method includes positioning an expandable metal sealing element in the wellbore; wherein the expandable metal sealing element comprises a composite material of expandable metal and a reinforcement material. The expandable metal forms a matrix and the reinforcement material is distributed within the matrix. The method further includes contacting the expandable metal sealing element with a fluid that reacts with the expandable metal to produce a reaction product having a volume greater than the expandable metal.

The present disclosure, in at least one aspect, provides a valve, a method for sealing, and a related well system. The valve, in one aspect, includes a housing, and a sliding sleeve disposed in the housing and defining an annular flow path between the sliding sleeve and the housing, the sliding sleeve configured to move from a closed positioned closing the annular flow path to an open position opening the flow path. The valve, in at least one other aspect, further includes a plug member positioned within the annular flow path, the plug member comprising a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis to seal the annular flow path.

A pressure energised seal for a wellhead, in particular, provides a seal of an annulus between an inner wellhead casing member and an outer wellhead casing member. The wellhead incorporates a clamping arrangement whereby the outer member is arranged to be deflected radially inwardly in order to grip and secure the inner member within the bore of the outer member. Also, a seal for use in such a clamping arrangement. In particular, the seal includes a sealing lip which locates within a groove provided in the outer clamping surface of the inner member. A seal is activated and created as the outer member is clamped inwardly since this causes the outer member to compress the inner member and to reduce the diameter of the inner member. Also, a well and a method of sealing an annulus in a well.

The present invention relates to a wireline plug system for setting a permanent plug in a well for plugging and abandonment, comprising a wireline pumping tool comprising a pump powered from surface via a wireline, the pump comprising a pump inlet and a pump outlet, the wireline pumping tool having a first end connected to the wireline and a second end, a plugging and abandonment plug comprising a first plug end and an opening in the first plug end, and an engagement tool for releasably connecting the plug to the wireline pumping tool, the engagement tool having a through-bore fluidly connecting the opening in the first plug end with the pump outlet, wherein the plugging and abandonment plug comprises a tubular metal part and an expandable metal sleeve surrounding and connected to an outer face of the tubular metal part, the tubular metal part having an expansion aperture fluidly connecting an inside of the tubular metal part and a cavity between the expandable metal sleeve and the tubular metal part. The invention also relates to a wireline plug setting method for setting a permanent plug in a well for plugging and abandonment on the wireline.

Burst Plug Assembly with Choke Insert, Fracturing Tool and Method of Fracturing with Same

A burst plug assembly for use in the fluid port of tubular fracturing tools to provide erosion resistance. The assembly has a body with an annular side wall and a closing wall closing the central bore of the annular side wall. A choke insert is retained in the central bore of the body to line the inner surface of the central bore. A groove in a face of the closing wall circumscribes a core in the bottom wall, and is sized and located so that a largest dimension of the core is no greater than a diameter of the inner bore of the choke insert, such that when a prescribed threshold hydraulic pressure level of the treatment fluid is applied to the closing wall the core disengages from the closing wall along the groove in a bursting action and passes through the inner bore of the choke insert.

High-temperature, high-pressure, fluid-tight seal using a series of annular rings

The invention is directed to a novel and useful fluid-tight, metal-to-metal, annular seal which can be repeatedly cycled in a high temperature, high pressure environment. More specifically, the invention provides a metal-to-metal, annular, seal on a radially expandable sliding sleeve which moves longitudinally from a reduced ID section of a bore to an enlarged section of the bore. The seal is disengaged at the enlarged bore section resulting in rapid fluid flow and pressure equalization which would destroy many traditional elastomer seals.

An annular barrier configured to be arranged on an outer face of a well tubular metal structure for providing zonal isolation in an annulus downhole, includes an annular space defined by a first expandable metal sleeve part and a second expandable metal sleeve part. The first expandable metal sleeve part having an outer face configured to face away from the outer face of the well tubular metal structure and the second expandable metal sleeve part having an outer face configured to face the outer face of the well tubular metal structure when arranged around the well tubular metal structure. The annular barrier further includes a first inner annular sealing element arranged on the outer face of the second expandable metal sleeve part configured to seal between the second expandable metal sleeve part and the well tubular metal structure.
