Retrievable High Expansion Bridge Plug and Packer with Retractable Anti-Extrusion Backup System
A packer assembly includes a packer mandrel and a packing element disposed about the packer mandrel. An upper recovery sleeve is disposed about the packer mandrel and extending between the packer mandrel and an upper end of the packing element, and a lower recovery sleeve is disposed about the packer mandrel and extending between the packer mandrel and a lower end of the packing element. An upper backup assembly is movably disposed about the upper recovery sleeve and adjacent to the upper end of the packing element. A lower backup assembly is movably disposed about the lower recovery sleeve. The lower backup assembly has a lower backup ring assembly configured to enclose an outer surface of the lower end of the packing element. A retrieval sleeve is selectively movable relative to the lower backup ring assembly and configured to at least partially retract the lower backup ring assembly.
RESETTABLE BACKUP AND SYSTEM
A backup comprising a gage ring having frustoconical surface and a groove in the frustoconical surface. The backup further includes a segment having a nose engaged with the groove, the segment having an element portion with an overlap finger and a finger receptor and a gage portion with an overlap finger and a finger receptor. A wedge ring is in contact with the segment and a retainer member is disposed to retain the segment. A method for using the backup and a system are included.
Spiral Backup Ring Containment For Packer Assemblies
Systems and methods of the present disclosure generally relate to anti-extrusion techniques for packer assemblies. A packer assembly comprises a mandrel; a retainer movably disposed adjacent to the mandrel, the retainer comprising a ramp; a packer element disposed adjacent to the mandrel and the ramp; a ring movably disposed on the ramp, the ring comprising a spiral cut; and a sleeve disposed around the retainer and the ring, wherein the sleeve is deformable to retain at least the packer element or the ring.
Anti-extrusion slip assemblies for a downhole sealing device
A downhole plug for plugging a tubular member. The downhole plug may include a packer and a slip assembly including a plurality of slip segments circumferentially spaced about a central axis of the slip assembly, each slip segment having a body comprising a first end, a second end longitudinally opposite the first end, an outward face with at least one engagement member for coupling to the tubular member, and sides each facing an adjacent slip segment of the plurality of slip segments. The plurality of slip segments may include a first set of slip segments and a second set of slip segments wherein each of the first set of slip segments is positioned directly between a pair of the second set of slip segments. Each of the second set of slip segments may include a pair of arcuately extending anti-extrusion members.
Roll-out apparatus, method, and system
A roll-out apparatus, method, and system is disclosed for deployment in a subterranean well at a setting location. The roll-out apparatus, method, and system includes a load ring and an energizing ring. The load ring may include an outer surface having an outer circumference and a slot extending through the entire wall thickness that follows a circuitous path from a front face to a back face of the load ring. The energizing ring includes an outer surface configured to contact an inner surface of the load ring to enlarge the outer circumference of the load ring in a radial direction. This causes the outer surface of the load ring to seal to an inner surface of the subterranean well at the setting location.
Systems and Methods for Bonding a Downhole Tool to a Surface within the Borehole
An assembly for use in a downhole tool. The assembly may include a body that includes a chamber with a solder suspension contained therein, the solder suspension comprising solder particles, each solder particle comprising an outer shell and a liquid metal core that is exposed and solidifies upon rupture of the outer shell. The assembly may also include a port that allows fluid flow between the chamber and an area outside of the chamber. The assembly may further include a plunger actuatable to apply a force to create a pressure to the solder suspension within the chamber to eject the solder suspension from the port at a velocity to rupture the outer shells of the particles upon contact with a surface.
Seal apparatus and methods of use
A seal apparatus and method of use is described. The apparatus comprises a seal assembly comprising a plurality of seal elements assembled together to form a ring structure around a longitudinal axis. The ring structure is operable to be moved between an expanded condition and a collapsed condition by movement of the plurality of seal elements. The plurality of seal elements is operable to be moved between the expanded and collapsed conditions by sliding with respect to one another along respective contact surfaces. Each of the plurality of seal elements is each formed from a compliant, compressible or resilient material.
Single-set anti-extrusion ring with 3-dimensionally curved mating ring segment faces
A single-set anti-extrusion ring has a plurality of ring segments with a mating face on each end. Each mating face has a 3-dimensionally curved topology and the first mating face is a mirror image of the second mating face so the ring segments fit together to form and anti-extrusion ring without gaps in an unexpanded condition, and no straight path through the anti-extrusion ring in an expanded condition.
Element Backup
An element backup including a first ring defining an axis; a first parting line through the first ring, the first parting line having a first plurality of generally axially extending segments and a first generally non-axially extending segment extending between the first plurality of axially extending segments; a second ring defining an axis; a second parting line through the second ring, the second parting line having a second plurality of generally axially extending segments and a second generally non-axially extending segment extending between the second plurality of axially extending segments; and an interconnection releasably securing the first and second rings to one another.
HIGH PERFORMANCE REGULAR AND HIGH EXPANSION ELEMENTS FOR OIL AND GAS APPLICATIONS
A downhole sealing device, a well system employing a downhole sealing device, and a method for sealing within a wellbore. The downhole sealing device, in one aspect, includes one or more downhole sealing features, and an elastomeric element comprising a thiourethane/acrylate polymer coupled to the one or more downhole sealing features. In at least one aspect, the elastomeric element is operable to be compressed in a downhole application against a tubular as a seal.
