Downhole tool and method of use

A downhole tool suitable for use in a wellbore, the tool having a double cone having a dual-cone outer surface. The downhole tool includes a carrier ring disposed around one end of the double cone, and a slip disposed around or proximate to an other end of the double cone. There is a guide assembly engaged with the slip.

Metal-based dissolvable ball seat, setting system and setting method

A metal-based dissolvable ball seat comprises a mandrel, a tail base, a sliding body, a slip and a sealing ring. The mandrel can be disengaged from the tail base under predefined shearing force. The sliding body is disposed to sleeve the mandrel and located above the tail base; the slip is disposed outside the mandrel and slidably abutted against the tail base and the sliding body respectively; the slip and the sliding body are slidably abutted against each other through a first conical surface structure, and/or the slip and the tail base are slidably abutted against each other through a second conical surface structure; the sealing ring is movable along axial direction of the mandrel together with the slip; when the sliding body and the tail base are approaching each other, the slip opens up and the sealing ring expands outward. A setting system and a setting method are provided.

An outer diameter of a mandrel with a recess to accommodate lower slips with a larger thickness, a sealing element with a concave outer diameter to control a pressure differential caused by a Bernoulli Effect across the sealing element, and a disc that is selectively secured to a housing via a removable shear pin, wherein shear pins with different pressure ratings may be inserted into the housing.

A method and apparatus to move an object in an open hole section of a wellbore. A bottom hole assembly including a downhole pulling tool and fishing device is described. The downhole pulling tool includes an open hole anchor to allow location of the downhole pulling tool in the open hole section of the wellbore so as to reduce the operating distance between the downhole pulling tool and the fishing device. An embodiment in which a cut section of tubular is removed from the open hole section is described. A casing cutter may also be located in the bottom hole assembly to cut the tubular on the same trip in the well as removing the cut section of tubular.

Embodiments presented provide for a method of making as well as an apparatus for holding a hydraulic fracturing plug in a desired position within a wellbore. The hydraulic fracturing plug is configured with a slip and wedge system to maintain the desired position within the wellbore.

Methods and systems for fracing and casing pressuring

A frac plug with lower slips and a lower cone. In embodiments, a lower cone ramp angle is greater than or equal to a cone bevel angle and a slip inner cut angle. This geometry enables the fins of the cone to not interact with the lower slips, which may not break the lower slips as the lower slips move over the cone. Instead, the lower slips may break due to stresses caused by the tendency of the lower slips to expand as they lower slips interact with the ramp of the lower cone.

Wellbore apparatus for setting a downhole tool

A method of separating a downhole tubular includes running a tool into a wellbore to a predetermined location on a work string and actuating flow actuated slips. The method also includes maintaining slips in a set position by providing a first upward force on the work string. The method further includes rotating the work string to separate an upper portion of the tubular from a lower portion using a cutter assembly disposed on the work string below the slips and pulling the upper portion of the tubing and the tool from the wellbore.

SPLIT RING SEALING ASSEMBLIES

A settable downhole tool with preset metallic split rings having gaps from their leading edges to their trailing edges. The rings expand radially outward during setting by widening the gaps, adjacent rings covering the gaps, creating a substantially fluid tight metal to metal seal with the casing.

SINGLE SLIP FRAC TOOL

A frac plug has a bottom shoe, a single slip ring supported by the bottom shoe, a slip wedge positioned above the slip ring and axially movable relative to the slip wedge, a radially outwardly expandable sealing element supported by the slip wedge and a deformable backup shoe fixed to the sealing element. The deformable backup shoe has a cap covering at least a portion of a top surface of the sealing element and an outer leg extending along at least a portion of an outer surface of the sealing element. A ball seat is insertable into the radially outwardly expandable sealing element.

SINGLE SLIP FRAC TOOL

A frac plug defines a central passage therethrough and is movable from an unset to a set position in a well casing. A single slip ring assembly is supported by the bottom shoe and a slip wedge is positioned in slidable relationship to the single slip ring assembly. A sealing element is supported by the slip wedge. A deformable ball seat is movable axially relative to the sealing element and the sealing element is expandable radially outwardly to engage and seal against the well casing upon the application of a force applied thereto by the deformable ball seat.
