Stage cementing tool
A system for cementing a tubular in a wellbore that includes a sleeve made up of an annular housing with a cement seal on outer surface of the housing. The sleeve further includes a sliding block, a stationary block, an arm attached to the sliding block, and a passage formed through a sidewall of the housing, and that receives a free end of the arm. When the sleeve inner bore is pressurized, the arm moves to move the sliding block into an open space in the stationary block. Inserting the sliding block into the open space forms a seal on the outer periphery of the sleeve which forms a barrier to cement flowing in an annulus between the sleeve and inner surface of the wellbore. Lost circulation material can be deposited in the annulus and which settles along an interface between the seal and wellbore wall.
FLOW CONTROL DEVICE
A flow control apparatus includes a housing having a bore extending and a port formed through a wall of the housing; a port sleeve disposed in the housing and having a port in communication with the port of the housing; a first sleeve releasably attached to the housing, wherein the first sleeve is movable from a first position preventing axial movement of the port sleeve relative to the housing to a second position allowing axial movement of the port sleeve relative to the housing; and a second sleeve releasably attached to the port sleeve, wherein the second sleeve is movable from a first position blocking fluid communication through the port of housing and the port of the port sleeve to a second position allowing fluid communication through the ports.
Systems and methods for stage cementing
A stage cementing tool includes a top sub-assembly; a bottom sub-assembly; a housing that connects the top and bottom sub-assembly and includes a bore therethrough from the top sub-assembly to the bottom sub-assembly, the housing including a plurality of ports radially arranged in the housing, each port including a fluid path between an interior radial surface of the housing and an outer radial surface of the housing; at least one sleeve that rides on a portion of the housing; and a controller mounted in the housing and configured to control the sleeve to adjust, based on receipt of a command to the controller from the terranean surface, between a first position such that the sleeve mandrel decouples fluid communication from the bore to an exterior of the housing through the fluid paths and a second position such that the sleeve mandrel fluidly couples the bore with the exterior of the housing through the fluid paths.
Stage collar and related methods for stage cementing operations
Aspects of the disclosure relate to stage collars and related methods of operation thereof for stage cementing operations. In one implementation, a stage collar for stage cementing operations includes a barrel, and an activation sleeve disposed at least partially in the barrel. The activation sleeve includes first fluid openings. The stage collar includes an activation ring that includes an activation seat. The stage collar includes a first set of shear fasteners coupling the activation ring to the activation sleeve, and a second set of shear fasteners coupling the activation sleeve to the barrel. The stage collar includes a setting piston, and a closing sleeve disposed at least partially in the barrel. The closing sleeve includes second fluid openings. The stage collar includes a third set of shear fasteners coupling the closing sleeve to the barrel.
Modular additive cementing
An apparatus for flowing and mixing cement within a subterranean formation includes a housing, a flow control device, and baffles. The housing is configured to contain a cement additive. The housing includes a first end and a second end. The first end is configured to couple to a cement retainer. The flow control device is disposed at the second end of the housing. The baffles are disposed within the housing.
SELECTIVE MULTI-STAGE CEMENTING OF CASING
An apparatus and a method for cementing a casing in various elevations is disclosed. A casing string having at least one cementing valve is lowered into a borehole. In the closed position, the valve prevents fluid communication between the interior and exterior of the casing. In the opened position, the valve allows fluid communication between the interior and the exterior of the casing so that cement is pumped therethrough to cement the borehole adjacent the valve at the borehole elevation where the valve is located. Opening of the valve is effected by landing on the valve an opening dart having a unique profile corresponding to the valve and applying pressure on the dart to move a sleeve in the valve to a first position exposing radial ports in the casing. The valve is closed by landing a dart on the opening dart and applying pressure thereon to move the sleeve to a second position to close the ports.
Liner Conveyed Compliant Screen System
A well completion assembly and method including apparatus for setting a compliant screen assembly and a liner within a wellbore in a single trip.
Shifting sleeve device and method
A downhole shifting sleeve device includes a first segment and a second segment each including a housing, a sleeve, and a seat surface connected to the sleeve. Each seat surface is configured to engage a plug traveling through an inner bore of the device, which transfers the associated sleeve from a first position to a second position. The seat surface of the second segment is formed by a selective seat assembly. When the first sleeve is in the first position, the selective seat assembly is in a retracted position in which an inner diameter of the selective seat assembly is greater than or equal to an inner diameter of the second sleeve. When the first sleeve is in the second position, the selective seat assembly is in a deployed position in which the inner diameter of the selective seat assembly is less than the inner diameter of the second sleeve.
METHOD FOR SLIM HOLE SINGLE TRIP REMEDIAL OR PLUG AND ABANDONMENT CEMENT BARRIER
This disclosure presents a new tool and methodology to work, in a single-trip system, and create conduits through the casing or tubing to access the annuli, circulate out the annuli contents, accurately deliver the cement required to create the subsequent barrier. The tool and system provided by this disclosure provide a cost effective way of plugging an oil and gas well in a single trip without the need to remove in-place production casing.
Stage tool for wellbore cementing
A stage tool for wellbore annular cementing may be opened for cementing by hydraulic actuation of a sliding sleeve valve from over a fluid port. After sufficient cement has been introduced, the stage tool fluid port can be closed by compressing two telescopically arranged parts of its tubular body to further overlap each other and overlie the fluid port. This permits the stage tool to be closed without employing a plug.
