Switch device with non-addressable scheme for wellbore operations
A non-addressable switch device that is part of a chain of switch devices in a gun string, the non-addressable switch device including a first switch configured to make an electrical connection between an electrical line and another non-addressable switch device of the chain of switch devices; a second switch configured to make an electrical connection between a detonator and the electrical line; and a processor P.sub.A connected to the first and second switches and configured to close and open the first and second switches. The processor P.sub.A is configured to not use a digital address, and the processor P.sub.A is configured to perform one of plural functions based on a corresponding pulse received along the electrical line.
CURRENT FEED-THROUGH WIRELINE RELEASE TOOL AND METHOD
A wireline release tool for downhole intervention, the tool including a housing having an electrical input and an electrical output; a pass-through switch located inside the housing and electrically connected between the electrical input and the electrical output; and a circuit limiter device located inside the housing and electrically connected between the electrical input and the electrical output. The pass-through switch is connected in parallel to the circuit limiter device, between the electrical input and the electrical output.
Retaining and positioning end cap for downhole setting tool power charges
A downhole setting tool and method of using the setting tool, the setting tool including a firing head, an igniter, a housing connected to the firing head, a power charge positioned within a chamber of the housing, and a connector connecting a portion of the power charge to the firing head. The connector may be connected to the uphole end of the power charge. The connector may connect the power charge to an adapter that connects the power charge to the firing head. The connector may be a ring having an outer engagement feature that engages the adapter and an inner engagement feature that engages the power charge. The connector may be a collet including an outer engagement feature that engages the adapter and a plurality of fingers that engage the power charge. The ignitor is used to detonate the power charge to set a device within a wellbore.
Microseismic Processing Using Fiber-Derived Flow Data
A method, downhole tool, and system, of which the method includes deploying a perforation charge into a wellbore, signaling the perforation charge to detonate, deploying a cable into the wellbore, determining a fluid flow rate at a predetermined location in the wellbore using the cable, and determining whether the perforation charge detonated at the predetermined location based on the fluid flow rate.
HYDRAULIC UNDERBALANCE INITIATED SAFETY FIRING HEAD, WELL COMPLETION APPARATUS INCORPORATING SAME, AND METHOD OF USE
A firing head assembly is described. The firing head assembly includes a tubular housing, upper piston and lower pistons, and a compressible member arranged within a lumen of the tubular housing and positioned between the upper and lower pistons. According to an aspect, the assembly includes a safety assembly that includes a sleeve having a zigzag shaped slot therein. The safety assembly may include a key that radially extends from a surface of one of the pistons, through the zigzag shaped slot. The distance between the upper and lower pistons may be adjusted by adjusting a pressure inside the tubular housing and a second pressure outside the tubular housing. The upper and lower pistons may function to operatively adjust the arrangement of the key within the zigzag shaped slot to activate the firing head assembly to either trigger an explosive reaction or to not trigger the explosive reaction.
Current feed-through wireline release tool and method
A wireline release tool for downhole intervention, the tool including a housing having an electrical input and an electrical output; a pass-through switch located inside the housing and electrically connected between the electrical input and the electrical output; and a current limiter device located inside the housing and electrically connected between the electrical input and the electrical output. The pass-through switch is connected in parallel to the current limiter device, between the electrical input and the electrical output.

The disclosure also relates to shaped charges containing insensitive high explosives for use in such perforating systems. The disclosure further relates to methods of using such perforating systems to perforate the casing of a wellbore
Select fire switch control system and method
A select fire system and method for controlling operations in a gun string assembly includes perforating guns and switch subs mechanically connected in the gun string assembly. Each of the switch subs includes a switching element, input links and output links. The switch subs and perforating guns communicate with each other through the input and output links. The switching elements keep track of the state of the sub and switches states based on trigger conditions such as environment conditions, perforating gun conditions, or input conditions from surface.
