Anatomical manipulation device

An anatomical manipulation device having a plurality of actuators configured around an anatomical interface. The device includes a controller, an interactive communication interface and at least one feedback sensor to measure physiological responses. The interactive communication interface receives input from the user. The controller coordinates the operation of the actuators based on the measurements received from the feedback sensor and input from the interactive communication interface. Each actuator includes one or more of: a high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) probe, an electrical muscle stimulator, a low-frequency pulse generator, a sound wave generator and a micro-vibrator.

Cerebrospinal fluid purification system

The present invention provides methods and systems for conditioning cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) by removing target compounds from CSF. The systems provide for a catheter flow path and exchange of a majority volume portion of CSF in the CSF space. The removal and/or delivery of specific compounds can be tailored to the pathology of the specific disease. The removal is targeted and specific, for example, through the use of specific size-exclusion thresholds, antibodies against specific toxins, and other chromatographic techniques, as well as delivery and/or removal of targeted therapeutic agents.

Pressure sensor

A pressure sensing apparatus comprises an elongate first sensor device in a beam configuration supported at at least one longitudinal end by a rigid support structure and having a deflectable portion. A chamber is disposed adjacent a first, internally-facing, face of the first sensor device. An envelope hermetically seals the first sensor device and the chamber from an ambient environment external to the pressure sensing apparatus. The envelope comprises a flexible membrane disposed over and coupled to a second, externally-facing, face of the first sensor device and extending along at least one or two sides of the first sensor device and the chamber. The sensor device may be a surface acoustic wave device coupled to an RF antenna.
