KEYWAY TIE
20190211512 · 2019-07-11 ·

A tie having a non-linear keyway under the overlying rail to provide support to restrain lateral and longitudinal movement of the rail. A fastening system to hold rails down on a tie comprises a rail plate that may be fastened to the tie within the keyway. The fasteners are protected to avoid damage in case of a derailment or other adverse conditions. Also disclosed are visual inspection mechanisms to assist with determining whether a fastening system is securely attached to the tie.

Modular fastening for railway crossings
12012700 · 2024-06-18 · ·

A modular fastening for track crossings includes a lower plate, an upper plate and an outer shoulder at each end of the plates, attached by means of adhesive bonding, which include means for anchoring the fastening on a surface. The upper plate includes a smooth central segment located between two grooved areas in correspondence with the ends of the upper plate. The present invention also includes two inner shoulders with lower grooves which can engage and fit into the grooved areas of the upper plate, where said inner shoulders include means for housing and securing an elastic fastening clip for fastening a railway rail.

Mechanism and system for fastening track rail to a substrate and track rail fastening method

A fastening mechanism for coupling track rail to a substrate includes a fastener body formed by a metallic base and an overmolded non-metallic coating. Metallic pillars are coupled with the fastener body, and define bores for receiving anchors held fast within a substrate. The coating encases the metallic base and extends peripherally around the metallic pillars to position vibration-attenuating non-metallic material between the metallic base and the metallic pillars.

Measuring apparatus for monitoring a railway track including an optical fiber being releasably clamped in rail fastening
12037030 · 2024-07-16 · ·

The invention relates to a measuring arrangement for monitoring a railway track having rails fastened to sleepers, wherein a fibre optic cable is connected to a measuring device in order to detect a strain acting on a rail. In this, the fibre optic cable is clamped in a detachable manner into at least one rail fastening. In this way, a strain transmitted from the rail via the rail fastening to the sleeper acts directly on the fibre optic cable.

Railway

Railway comprising sleepers and rails supported thereby, wherein each sleeper has a holding piece anchored in or to the sleeper, and a clip or spring is connected to the holding piece and simultaneously presses on the rail to provide a downward holding force to the rail and maintain it on the sleeper. The holding piece and the clip or spring are supplemented with a mounting body and a mounting piece, which mounting body is placed over or adjacent to said holding piece, and which mounting body is arranged to cooperate with said mounting piece.

TRACK-MOUNTING ASSEMBLY
20180363250 · 2018-12-20 ·

A track-mounting assembly secures a longitudinally extending rail direction to a substrate and has a frame fixed to the substrate and a track plate fitted in the frame. A vertically throughgoing aperture of the frame has an inner edge formed by a longitudinally extending gauge surface directed transversely toward a field side of the assembly and a transversely oppositely directed and longitudinally extending field surface. The track plate carries the rail and has an outer edge is itself formed by a longitudinally extending field surface spacedly transversely confronting the gauge surface of the aperture and a longitudinally extending gauge surface spacedly transversely confronting the field surface of the aperture. The field surface of the track plate is of substantially greater area than the gauge surface of the aperture. An elastomeric mass fills between the frame and the track plate.

Fastening point, in which a rail forming part of a track for rail vehicles is mounted on a foundation

A fastening point for a rail on a foundation including a bedplate arranged on a support surface of the foundation. The bedplate includes a bearing surface formed on its underside associated with the foundation and also a through-opening, a spring element for exerting an elastic holding-down force on a rail foot and a clamping screw, which braces the spring element against the bedplate. The clamping screw is guided with its threaded shaft through the through-opening of the bedplate. The clamping screw acts with its screw head against the spring element and is screwed into a thread provided in a region of the through-opening of the bedplate. A free space is provided in a region underneath the bedplate in the extension of the through-opening of the bedplate, into which the threaded shaft of the clamping screw can be inserted.

System and Fastening Point for Screwless Fastening of a Rail for a Rail Vehicle

A system for a screwless rail fastening includes a spring element and a supporting collar. The spring element has a bearing section, a curved section, a holding-down section, aligned in the opposite direction to the bearing section, a curved section curved in the direction of the bearing section, and a locking section aligned transversally to the bearing section. The supporting collar includes a fastening section for retaining the supporting collar on the foundation, a carrier section supported by the fastening section, a bearing recess formed on the carrier section for mounting of the bearing section, and a locking head supported by the carrier section on which a counter-bearing for the locking section is formed so that the locking section is retained in a position relative to the bearing section of the spring element.

Track rail fastening mechanism and method

A mechanism for coupling a track rail to a substrate includes a rail plate and a base plate, where the rail plate surrounds the base plate. An overmolded coating is formed of a non-metallic material and encases the rail plate and the base plate. Related methodology is disclosed.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSTALLING A RAIL ON A TIE IN A RAILROAD SYSTEM
20180127924 · 2018-05-10 ·

A plate assembly for securing a rail to a tie that includes a clip and a shoulder with an orifice. At least one of the clip and the shoulder are modified by changing their respective shape to form a positive interference fit therebetween. The modification is provided to ensure that the clip is maintained with its leg partially inserted into the shoulder orifice during staging.
