Ground engaging tool assembly with ground engaging tip
A ground engaging tool assembly includes a ground engaging tip, an adapter, and a wear cap. The ground engaging tip has a ground engaging portion and a coupling portion including an interior surface defining a coupler pocket with an adapter opening and first and second lug openings. The adapter includes a mounting nose with first and second retention lugs extending from sides of the mounting nose along oblique taper angles. The mounting nose is disposed within the coupler pocket of the ground engaging tip with the first and second retention lugs extending into the first and second lug openings, respectively. The base includes a shoulder surface and a retention surface that define a mounting groove therebetween. The wear cap includes a mounting rail that is disposed within the mounting groove of the adapter to mount the wear cap thereto.
Fastener systems having elongate arcuate body
The present fastener securely couples a first body to a second body, where the fastener includes an elongate arcuate body curved along a longitudinal axis and having a cross-sectional area taken planar normal to the longitudinal axis, the elongate arcuate body includes a first portion separated along the longitudinal axis from a second portion with the cross-sectional area of the elongate body increasing from the first portion to the second portion. The fastener further includes a retaining portion configured to selectively secure the elongate arcuate body in the inserted configuration. In use, the present fastener is configured to be inserted into a passage delineated between a first body and a second body which are overlapping at least in part, to selectively lock the first body and the second body in the coupled configuration.
Retainer sleeve
A retainer sleeve for use with a lock in a ground engaging tool. The retainer sleeve can include a skirt extending part way around a retainer axis to form a portion of an annulus. The retainer sleeve can further include a plurality of legs joined to the skirt and formed to mate with a lock cavity of the ground engaging tool. The plurality of legs can form an inner surface shaped to rotatably receive an outer surface of the lock.
Wear assembly
A wear assembly for use on various kinds of earth working equipment that includes a base with a supporting portion, a wear member with a cavity into which the supporting portion is received, and a lock to releasably secure the wear member to the base. The supporting portion is formed with top and bottom recesses that receive complementary projections of the wear member. These recesses and projections include aligned holes so as to receive and position the lock centrally within the wear assembly and remote from the wear surface. The hole in the wear member is defined by a wall that includes a retaining structure provided with an upper bearing surface and a lower bearing surface for contacting and retaining the lock against upward and downward movement in the hole. The lock includes a mounting component that defines a threaded opening for receiving a threaded pin that is used to releasably hold the wear member to the base. The separate mounting component can be easily manufactured and secured within the wear member for less expense and higher quality than forming the threads directly in the wear member.
RETENTION SYSTEM FOR RIPPER TIPS
A work tool or a wear member includes a working portion or a wear portion, a hollow portion that further defines a lock receiving aperture defining an axis of rotation, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction. The axis of rotation is transverse to the direction of assembly of work tool or wear member as the member is slid over a nose portion of a tool adaptor or the like. The axis of rotation is spaced away from the direction the pin receiving thru-hole extends a predetermined distance measured along the direction of assembly.
SYSTEM FOR FIXING WEAR ELEMENTS ON EARTH-MOVING MACHINES
The system for fixing wear elements in earth-moving machines, which comprises a stem (1) that rotates between a locking position and a release position, said stem (1) defining an inner end and an outer end, said stem (1) comprising locking elements (2, 3), wherein said stem (1) comprises a first deformable locking element (2) placed at the inner end of said stem (1) and a second locking element (3) arranged shifted towards the outer end of said stem (1).
It allows providing a system for fixing wear elements in earth-moving machines that is easy to manipulate and that improves/secures the contacts between the tooth and the tooth-holder.
RETAINER SLEEVE DESIGN WITH ANTI-ROTATION FEATURES
A retainer sleeve includes an at least partially annular body defining an axis of rotation, a radial direction, and a circumferential direction. The body may also have a radially inner annular surface defining a radially inner aperture, and a first anti-rotation feature extending radially inwardly from the radially inner annular surface including a sloping ledge having a locking surface that faces at least partially in the circumferential direction and along a direction that is parallel to the axis of rotation, forming an oblique angle with the direction that is parallel to the axis of rotation.
Cutting assembly mounted on rear of mouldboard
A cutting assembly for mounting cutting tips on a mouldboard of a motor grader has a cutter body including a forward mounting face for mounting along a rear face of the mouldboard simultaneously with a continuous blade body supported along the front face of the mouldboard. A row of sockets in the cutter body are arranged to support cutting tips respectively therein. The cutter body is configured to support the cutting tips on the mouldboard such that (i) the cutting tips are raised relative to the lower blade edge of the blade body in a normal working position of the mouldboard, and (ii) the cutting tips protrude below the lower blade edge of the blade body in a cutting position of the mouldboard in which the lower blade edge of the blade body is tilted about the tilt axis upwardly and forwardly in relation to the normal working position.
Retainer sleeve
A retainer sleeve for use with a lock in a ground engaging tool. The retainer sleeve can include a skirt extending part way around a retainer axis. The retainer sleeve can further include a plurality of legs joined to the skirt and formed to mate with a lock cavity of the ground engaging tool. The skirt can form an inner surface shaped to rotatably receive an outer surface of the lock.
FASTENER RETAINING COMPONENT
A fastener retaining component may comprise a first elongated member. A length of the first elongated member may be greater than a diameter of a fastener receiving element of a component. The fastener retaining component may further comprise a second elongated member. A length of the second elongated member may be greater than the diameter of the fastener receiving element. The fastener retaining component may be configured to be press-fit within the fastener receiving element such that press-fitting the fastener retaining component, within the fastener receiving element, increases a tension in the fastener retaining component to cause the first elongated member and the second elongated member to engage with an inner surface of the fastener receiving element and to retain a fastener within the fastener receiving element.
