Apparatus and methods for ocular injection

An apparatus includes a housing coupled to a medicament container, which is coupled to a needle. An injection assembly is disposed within the housing and includes an energy storage member and an actuation rod. A distal end portion of the actuation rod is disposed within the medicament container. The energy storage member can produce a force on a proximal end portion of the actuation rod sufficient to move the distal end portion of the actuation rod within the medicament container. This can convey at least a portion of a substance from the medicament container via the needle when a distal tip of the needle is disposed within a first region of a target location. The force is insufficient to move the distal end portion of the actuation rod within the medicament container when the distal tip of the needle is disposed within a second region of the target location.

The present invention relates to a kit comprising: at least one microneedle sheet (1) comprising a substrate layer and a plurality of microneedles on the substrate layer, the microneedles comprising at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer; and a device comprising an applicator (2-3) comprising an application surface, a container (2-1) comprising a cosmetic composition and a valve, wherein the microneedle sheet (1) is capable being attached to the applicator (2-3) by attaching the substrate layer of the microneedle sheet to the application surface, the applicator (2-3), the container (2-1) and the valve are configured to supply the cosmetic composition via the valve onto the microneedle sheet (1). The kit according to the present invention can prevent the repeated use of microneedles (1), and can apply a cosmetic product in an easy and sanitary manner.

INGESTIBLE DEVICE FOR DELIVERY OF THERAPEUTIC AGENT TO THE GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT

Ingestible devices can directly deliver therapeutic agents to desired tissue(s) of the GI tract of a subject, such as the submucosa, the mucosa, and/or the mucus layer of the GI tract, and methods of using the same. The ingestible devices can deliver therapeutic agents in a safe, effective, and reliable manner. The disclosure also provides pharmaceutical compositions for use in methods of treating a disease or condition in a subject in need thereof.

MICRONEEDLE PATCHES AND METHODS

Microneedle patches and systems, and methods for use of such patches and systems. In one aspect, a microneedle patch is provided including a tab portion for handling the microneedle patch. In another aspect, a system is provided including a microneedle patch and a tray for housing the microneedle patch. In still another aspect, various indicators providing for providing feedback prior to, during, and after administration of the microneedle patch are provided. Advantageously, the described microneedle patches and systems provide improved handling and ease of application of the microneedle patches to skin for the delivery of therapeutic agents.

COSMETIC INJECTOR ON WHICH MICRONEEDLES FOR INDUCING ABSORPTION OF COSMETICS ARE MOUNTED, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
20230014809 · 2023-01-19 ·

The present invention relates to a cosmetic injector on which microneedles for inducing the absorption of cosmetics are mounted, the injector comprising: an accommodation part for accommodating cosmetics; a head part having a flow path in through which cosmetics flow; a microneedle part which is fixed to the head part, and which is inserted into the skin so as to cause the cosmetics to penetrate the skin; and a pumping part for transferring, to the head part, the cosmetics accommodated in the accommodation part, wherein the head part includes: a first head part for receiving the cosmetics from the pumping part; and a second head part coupled to the upper portion of the first head part, and the microneedle part includes: a microneedle plate provided between the first head part and the second head part; and a plurality of microneedles which extend from the microneedle plate so as to protrude toward the upper surface of the second head part, and which guide, into the skin, the cosmetics discharged from the head part.

Bioelectronic Devices to Support Transplanted Cells in Vivo for Encapsulated Cell Therapies

A bioelectronic device houses therapeutic cells and is configured to be implanted in a host. The device includes an electrochemical cell that produces oxygen gas from water when a voltage is applied. The oxygen gas produced by the electrochemical cell is stored in a gas diffusion chamber in the device. The therapeutic cells in a cell housing chamber in the device receive oxygen gas from the gas diffusion chamber to help keep the cells alive and functioning when the device is implanted in a low oxygen environment. The device receives power wirelessly.

MICRONEEDLE PATCH FOR IN-SITU SEEDING OF CELLS

Chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR T) therapy reached a milestone in eradicating B-cell malignancies, but beneficial effects in solid tumors are not obtained yet. A porous microneedle patch is disclosed that carries CAR T cells to solid tumors (or other cell types). The device is a honeycomb-like porous microneedle patch that accommodates CAR T cells and allows in situ penetration-media seeding of CAR T cells within post-surgical resection of solid tumors. CAR T cells loaded in the pores of the microneedle tips were readily escorted to the tumor in an evenly scattered manner without losing their activity. Such microneedle-mediated local delivery enhanced infiltration and immune stimulation of CAR T cells as compared to direct intratumoral injection. This tailorable patch offers a transformative platform for scattered seeding of living cells for treating a variety of diseases. Other cell types may be loaded into the porous microneedles.

Core-shell microneedle devices and uses thereof

The present disclosure relates to microneedle devices and methods for treating a disease (for example, diabetes) using a degradable cross-linked gel for self-regulated delivery of a therapeutic agent (for example, insulin).
