DECK FRAME WITH INTEGRAL ATTACHMENT TABS

A deck frame includes at least one perimeter support member that has a joist support wall, and a web wall extending perpendicularly from the joist support wall. A plurality of first attachment tabs extend from the web wall and are disposed spaced apart along the length of the at least one perimeter support member. A plurality of second attachment tabs extend from the web wall and are disposed spaced apart along the length of the at least one perimeter support member. Each one of a plurality of joists has a first lateral wall and a second lateral wall disposed opposite the first lateral wall. One of the plurality of first attachment tabs is configured to be secured to the first lateral wall, and one of the plurality of second attachment tabs is configure to be secured to the second lateral wall of each one of the plurality of joists.

A thin wall profile member (TPM) with a cross-sectional shape and dimensions constant along its length is pre-constructed for use as a load carrying, weight optimized structural element. The TPM includes at least one main strip and at least one additional strip each having longitudinal reinforcing ribs. The at least one additional strip has a width that does not exceed a width of the at least one main strip and has a thickness that equals or exceeds a thickness of the at least one main strip. The ratio of the width of the at least one additional strip to the width of the at least one main strip has a value greater than 0 and less than or equal to 1. The ratio of the thickness of the at least one additional strip to the thickness of the at least one main strip has a value that is greater than or equal to 1.

Balcony developments

A balcony is attachable to an attachment beam extending from a building in order to attach the balcony with respect to the building. The balcony can include: a floor which provides a safe, usable surface for the end-user of the balcony to stand on; and a plurality of rafters. Each rafter can include: a floor portion which defines a part of the floor, and a strengthening portion which is located below the floor portion and extends downwardly from the floor portion. The floor portions of the rafters cooperate to define the floor. Each of the plurality of rafters is an integrally formed component.

Deck framing system

A deck framing system includes a perimeter support member that has a joist support wall and a web wall extending perpendicularly from the joist support wall and an overhang wall extending perpendicularly from the web wall. First and second joist support brackets include a joist support portion and a pair of attachment wings, where each one of the pair of attachment wings contacting the web wall of the perimeter support member. First and second joists each include a deck support wall and a lower wall. The deck support walls of the first and second joists are disposed between the overhang wall and the joist support portions, and the lower walls are disposed between the joist support portions and the joist support wall.
