CEILING LADDER, DEEP STEP AND METHOD
20250101806 · 2025-03-27 ·

A ceiling ladder having a plurality of sections that can be climbed by a user when in an unfolded position into an attic and that can be folded together into a retracted position to be stored above the ceiling. The ladder has a deep step, which has a width greater than the width of other steps of the ladder, in which is located between about 2-5 feet from the floor when the ladder is in the unfolded position so that a user can stand on the deep step and place objects into the attic without having to climb into the attic.

ATTIC STAIR APPARATUS

An improved retractable attic stair apparatus assembly includes a stair component retractable staircase assembly including two shock mount subassemblies, two gas spring subassemblies, and two short railing pipe assemblies. The two short railing pipe assemblies are used as a left and right handrail of the retractable staircase assembly while also supporting the two shock mount subassemblies. The two gas spring subassemblies are at least partially supported by the two shock mount subassemblies. The attic stair apparatus is configured for an installation site in an attic or a garage and includes a first retracted configuration. A deployed configuration allows the apparatus to extend downwardly from the installation site for use of the attic stair apparatus by a user to ascend the attic stair apparatus to access an attic, a garage crawl space, or a garage roof.

A ladder assembly is described. The ladder assembly includes a frame, a door, a ladder and a cord manipulation assembly. The frame at least partially surrounds a first opening. The door is movably connected to the frame. The door is configured to cover at least a portion of the first opening of the frame, the door defines a second opening. The ladder is connected to at least one of the frame and the door. The ladder has a first side rail, a second side rail spaced a distance apart laterally from the first side rail, and a plurality of rungs extending between the first and second side rails. The ladder is configured to be at least partially positioned within the first opening of the frame. The cord manipulation assembly is positioned between a pair of adjacently disposed rungs of the ladder. The cord manipulation assembly has a power source connector, a reel adapted to support a cord, a motor operatively connected to the reel and the power source connector, and a remote control transceiver assembly operatively connected to the motor and the power source connector.

ROTATABLE STAIR-DECK SYSTEM

A stair-deck system integrates the deck system and stair system. The deck system seamlessly integrates several components, including the top hatch, deck, stair system, and handle link. The handle link establishes a connection between the top hatch and the deck, offering the operator control over the open and close processes. The stair system, situated on the deck, can be deployed as needed. In its fully deployed configuration, the top hatch functions as a roof, and the stair system can be rotated to multiple orientations for enhanced convenience. The stair system integrates a foldable stair, stair platform, and handle posts, forming a comprehensive system mounted on the deck. Following the full deployment of the deck system, the operator can manually unfold the stairs, rotate the entire system to one of three orientations based on the user's preference and convenience and place the handle post.

Folding staircase

A folding staircase for use in a door opening having a threshold. The folding staircase has a pair of stringers that have an upper end and a lower end that is adapted for contacting a ground surface. The stringers are spanned by at least one tread. A hinge is connected to a floor near the door opening and a threshold plate pivotally connected thereto is movable between a use position and a stowed position. The staircase may be provided with a lifting mechanism that biases the staircase and threshold plate toward their stowed positions. The lifting device provides a variable force that provides more rotational force when the staircase would require a user to bear more of its weight and less force when less of the weight of the staircase would be borne by a user.

Folding stair with tread overhang

An improved folding stair comprising a sequence of steps (101), each rotably mounted to a structure (102) via axes (103) located and oriented to facilitate rotation between deployed and stowed states, such that the steps exhibit tread overhang (109) in their deployed state. The step width (105) exceeds the step rise (107). In other embodiments the axes are to one side of the steps. In other embodiments the angle of rotation between deployed and stowed states exceeds the arccosine of step-above thickness (104) over step rise. In other embodiments the movement from deployed to stowed state moves the steps from the traversal path. In other embodiments the axes are either skew to the deployed tread, or to the traversal path, or to both. Other embodiments include a means of coordinating the steps' folding motion.
