20230346428 · 2023-11-02 ·

A disposable medical introduction system including a medical device and a disposable inserter. The disposable inserter includes a carrier to receive the medical device. The carrier includes at least one annular projection. The disposable inserter includes a retractor received within the at least one annular projection and movable relative to the at least one annular projection. The retractor has at least one retaining arm. The disposable inserter includes a needle cartridge coupled to the retractor that includes an insertion needle. The at least one retaining arm cooperates with the needle cartridge to maintain the insertion needle in a first, extended state. A movement of the retractor relative to the at least one annular projection releases the at least one retaining arm to move the insertion needle from the first, extended state to a second, retracted state.

Inline injection port assembly
11813424 · 2023-11-14 · ·

An inline injection port assembly having a rigid tubular port body with a cap structure mounted thereto and a barbed tubing connector extending from the opposite end thereof. The cap structure has to a self-sealing elastomeric injection structure which extends into the port body and which is held in a compressed state therein. The cap structure and the barbed tubing connector are axially aligned to thereby provide a low profile inline injection port assembly.

Full Featured Integrated Midline Catheter System with Stabilization and Near Patient Access Port Blood Draw, Infusion, and Digital Probes
20230355943 · 2023-11-09 ·

An integrated midline catheter system including a catheter adapter having a catheter extending therefrom, a stabilization platform, a proximal connector portion fluidly coupled to the catheter, and a side branch fluidly coupled to the catheter. The system also includes a near patient access port coupled to the side branch of the catheter adapter, wherein the near patient access port includes a connector portion couplable to a peripheral probe device. Furthermore, the system includes a catheter insertion device, wherein the catheter insertion device is configured to enable distal movement of the catheter adapter and catheter so as to position the catheter within a patient's vasculature.

Adapter cap for drug transfer assembly

A drug transfer assembly including a connector connectable to a portion of an intravenous line adapted for connection to a patient's bloodstream and an adapter cap removably connectable with the connector is disclosed. The connector is formed of a rigid material and the adapter cap is formed of a pliable material. With the adapter cap connected to the connector, the adapter cap protectively surrounds and shields the connector. The adapter cap provides a cushioning surface which prevents rubbing of the connector against the skin of a patient. In this manner, the adapter cap prevents the connector of a drug transfer assembly from causing irritation and/or infection to the skin of a patient. Furthermore, the adapter cap provides a protective shield which prevents the connector of a drug transfer assembly from becoming contaminated with undesirables.

Medical infusion device and methods of use
11826542 · 2023-11-28 · ·

A medical infusion device including a chamber characterized by an upper body joined to a lower body via a reversibly collapsible sidewall. The upper body has a first channel fluidly coupled to a needle and a second channel fluidly coupled to an interior of the chamber. The chamber transitions from a collapsed state to the expanded state to retract the needle by introducing fluid into the interior of the chamber through the second channel.

Medical device, extracorporeal unit, power transmission sheet, and medical instrument

A power transmission unit includes a second coil which contactlessly transmits power, a power reception unit includes a first coil that receives the power transmitted from the power transmission unit, and a medical instrument includes the power reception unit and is embedded in a body. The medical instrument includes a notification unit that is composed of a plurality of light emitting units that provides notification that a relative positional relationship between the power transmission unit and the power reception unit has reached a predetermined state by emitting light using the power received at the power reception unit when the predetermined state is reached by the movement of the power transmission unit. A soft unit into which an injection needle is inserted, the plurality of light emitting units being arranged so as to extend along an outer edge of the soft unit.

Venous access port with molded and/or radiopaque indicia

A venous access port assembly having a base, a peripheral surface, and a septum. The base defines an interior reservoir. The peripheral surface includes integrally molded X-ray discernable indicia identifying that the assembly is rated for power injection. The X-ray discernable indicia may extend through a height of the peripheral surface from a top surface to a bottom surface thereof. According to one aspect, the peripheral surface may be formed from X-ray discernable material, and the X-ray discernable indicia may be formed from the X-ray discernable material, or they may be formed by voids in the X-ray discernable material. According to another aspect, the peripheral surface may be formed from a radiotransparent or radiolucent material and applied with a radiopaque agent, and the X-ray discernable indicia may be one or more voids in the radiopaque agent or may be portions of the peripheral surface applied with the radiopaque agent.

TISSUE EXPANDER
20220338950 · 2022-10-27 ·

A tissue expander is disclosed herein. The tissue expander may comprise a shell defining a chamber, and having a flexible wall and a port disposed through the flexible wall. The shell may also include a channel disposed through the flexible wall. A first syringe containing a first volume of a liquid may be connected to the chamber of the tissue expander via the channel. A second syringe containing a second volume of the liquid may be connected to the chamber via the port at least approximately one week after the first volume of liquid is injected. The first volume of liquid may be injected more quickly than the second volume of liquid.

Self-flushing connector

A self-flushing connector includes a housing having a cavity, a first inlet port, a second inlet port, and an outlet port. A collapsible valve is disposed within the cavity. A first flow path extends from the first inlet port to the outlet port. The first inlet port and the second inlet port are fluidly connected through a gap defined between the body of the collapsible valve and an inner wall of the housing defining the cavity. A second flow path extends from the second inlet port to the first flow path. When the collapsible valve is in a closed state, the collapsible valve fluidly disconnects the second flow path from the first flow path while allowing fluid to flow through the first flow path. When the collapsible valve is in an open state, the second flow path is fluidly connected to the first flow path.

INTRACRANIAL DELIVERY OF MEDICINAL SOLUTION
20220296868 · 2022-09-22 ·

Embodiments provide for intracranial delivery of a medicinal solution to the brain. A system includes a bun hole stopple for insertion in a cranial bun hole, a catheter, a connecting member, a connector tube, and a pump. The catheter is advanced through an opening in the stopple to a tissue site in the brain. A proximal portion of the catheter is fixed to an outer groove in the stopple to minimize movement of the catheter in the brain. The catheter, connecting member, connector tube, and pump are fluidically coupled together to create a flow path between the pump and a distal end of the catheter for infusion of the medicinal solution to the tissue site in the brain.
