A decking assembly comprising a first decking panel (202), a second decking panel (202) adjacent the first decking panel (202), a clip (100) comprising a base (102) and a retaining portion (104), wherein the retaining portion (104) cooperates with the first decking panel to affix the clip thereto, the base projects from the first decking panel to engage the second decking panel and, the base defines a fastener opening for receiving a fastener to secure the first and second decking panels to an underlying substrate.

Hidden fastener unit and related method of use

A fastener unit and related method for securing a board to a support is provided. The fastener unit includes a spacer block, a grip element extending from the spacer block and configured to fit in and engage a groove of the board, and one or more board engagement elements extending from a portion of the spacer block. The board engagement elements can clamp the board, between an upper and/or lower surface of the board and a groove of the board, thereby securing the spacer block in a position adjacent the groove to establish a gap between the board and another board. Related methods of use also are provided.

A fastener driving tool and a positioning foot for the fastener driving tool are provided. The fastener driving tool includes a body having a nosepiece configured to drive a fastener along a drive axis. The positioning foot is secured to the nosepiece and includes a base having a tool-facing surface and a work piece engaging surface opposite to the tool-facing surface. The positioning foot also includes a clip attaching section at a first end of the base, the clip attaching section having a pair of notches configured to receive corresponding portions of a clip to position the clip on the base.

HIDDEN FASTENER FREE DECK CLIP

Fastener-free deck clips, methods of use, and associated installation tools. The clips use a gripping element to secure the clip to a joist and do not require the use of a separate screw or other fastener, simplifying the installation process. The clip has a central body with lateral wings extending to an endpoint, where the gripping element is located. The gripping element may include puncturing elements to adhere better to the joist. Likewise, the main body may have tabs that can be depressed to further adhere to the joist. The clips may be installed by use of a handheld tool.

Deck clip

A deck clip that may be used in the construction of a deck and a method of using the same is provided. The deck clip may include a grip and a spacer. Portions of both the grip and the spacer may be received within the grooves of deck boards used in decks. Thus, the deck clip may be selectively affixed to deck boards. Further, the deck clip may be configured to receive a fastener for anchoring the deck clip to joists. Thus, the deck clip may be used to couple deck boards to joists. Advantageously, the deck clip may be used to construct a deck without exposed fasteners, the geometry of the spacer may assist with creating a consistent gap between adjacent deck boards, and the grip may comprise saw-tooth shaped surfaces for improved retention of the deck boards.

ROTATING T-CLIP INSTALLATION TOOLS AND METHODS OF USE

A clip strip installation system comprising an adjustable base with a removably attaching tool body. The tool body has mechanisms for receiving and feeding through the tool body a clip of collated deck installation clips. One clip at a time is disposed within an installation chamber, where a vertical bit is rotated to drive a fastener of the clip into a support structure, such as a joist. The process of removing the bit causes automatic reloading of the chamber with the next clip in the strip without the need for a motor or power source.
