The plug is configured to mechanically engage the first conduit and the socket is configured to mechanically engage the second conduit. In examples, the plug is configured to insert into a socket well of the socket. The connector includes a clamp head configured to mechanically engage the plug when the plug mechanically couples with the socket. The clamp head is configured to mechanically engage the plug to help sustain the mechanical coupling of the plug and the socket. In some examples, the connector may include an output device configured to provide an output indicating when the plug is mechanically coupled with the socket.
Respiratory gas sensor system with color detection
A gas analyzer for measuring a respiratory gas component includes an emitter that transmits infrared (IR) radiation through a measurement chamber containing respiration gas, and at least one IR detector configured to receive at least a portion of the IR radiation transmitted through the measurement chamber and to generate radiation measurement data based on the received IR radiation. A light source is configured to emit light onto a color indicator, wherein the color indicator is one of a predefined set of colors. A color detector is configured to detect light reflected by a color indicator so as to identify color information. The controllers configured to determine a respiratory gas component concentration within the measurement chamber based on the color information and the radiation measurement data.
Connector and alerting device
The present invention connects to tubing through which gas flows to a patient. An alert notifies monitoring personnel that oxygen flow to the patient has been interrupted, because the tubing has been disconnected. The invention comprises an adapter that is connected to a gas or oxygen source and a nipple over which the tubing fits and through which oxygen flows to the patient. When the tubing becomes disconnected from the nipple, the oxygen flow actuates an alert. The invention includes a fixed arm, a swing arm, and a spring. When the tubing becomes disconnected, the swing arm pivots and causes a switch actuator to engage a switch that sends a signal to an alert. The alert can be audible or visual.
Smart connection interface
A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.
Sensor Assembly and System, Method, and Computer Program Product for Identifying Devices Connected to Device Connectors
A sensor assembly may include a sensor surrounding a connector of a medical device. The sensor may be configured to detect a dimension of an end of another connector of another medical device when the another connector of the another medical device is connected to the connector of the medical device. A system may include the sensor assembly and one or more processors programmed and/or configured to determine a type of the another medical device based on the detected dimension. A method may include detecting, with a sensor surrounding a connector of a medical device, a dimension of an end of another connector of another medical device when the another connector of the another medical device is connected to the connector of the medical device; and determining a type of the another medical device based on the detected dimension.
CONNECTION MEMBER, INJECTION DEVICE AND PUMP CASING EQUIPPED WITH CONNECTION MEMBER, AND LIQUID VERIFICATION METHOD USING CONNECTION MEMBER
Provided is a connection member which is not limited by the material, the tube thickness, the tube diameter or the like of a suction tube and a discharge tube to be connected to a pump, and can eliminate troubles in the tube attachment. A connection member includes: a pump attachment part; a tube connecting part; and a flow passage defining part. At least a portion of each of the suction passage section and the discharge passage section of the flow passage defining part includes membranes deformable due to pressures of the liquid flowing in the suction passage section and the discharge passage section. The flow passage defining part has a shape allowing the flow passage defining part to be attached in an arrangement that the membranes face sensors for detecting a flow state of the liquid flowing in the suction passage section and the discharge passage section by deformation of the membranes.
DEVICE FOR CONNECTION STATUS IDENTIFICATION
The present invention relates to a device for identifying the connection status between a patient catheter and a cassette system having flexible tubing assembly, which is intended to be used in a dialysis machine, wherein the device comprises the cassette system having flexible tubing assembly and an electrical circuit, which is disposed on the cassette system having flexible tubing assembly as well as on the patient catheter, and wherein the device furthermore comprises a measuring device for measuring at least one electrical property of the electrical circuit, which depends on said connection status.
