A fluid flow disconnect sensor and alarm system includes first and second sensor units configured to be removably coupled to a first and second portions of a fluid connector assembly, respectively. The first sensor unit comprises a sensor configured to sense when the second sensor unit is within a threshold distance of the first sensor unit, and comprises a transmitter configured to transmit, to a device remote from the first and second sensor units, an indication regarding whether the first and second portions of the fluid connector assembly are coupled together responsive to the sensing. A computing device receiving the indication determines when the first and second portions of the fluid connector assembly are coupled together, and when the assembly becomes disconnected, and may generate an alarm when the first and second portions become disconnected.

FLOW SENSOR SYSTEM WITH CONNECTION ASSEMBLY
20190376822 · 2019-12-12 ·

A system for sensing medicament delivery and transmitting an operation modification signal having at least two separable components is disclosed. The system includes a flow sensor having an inlet to couple to a fluid source, an outlet for delivering fluid from the fluid source to a patient, at least one sensor to characterize at least one attribute of the fluid, and at least one pin in in electrical communication with the sensor. The system includes a second component having a base having a contact, a controller in electrical communication with the contact that generates an operation modification signal in response to an attribute matching a condition specified by a rule, a transmitter for transmitting the operation modification signal to a device, the operation modification signal, when received by the device, causing the device to modify at least one operating parameter, and a cross-component electrical circuit.

CONNECTOR COUPLING ASSEMBLY

A connector assembly may include a cover defining a cavity, a luer portion extending through an open end of the cover, a proximal connector disposed at least partially in the cavity of the cover, a pusher mounted on the proximal connector, a distal connector at least partially disposed in the cover, and a stopwatch mounted on the cover and including at least one contact. The pusher may include a body portion and first and second pusher legs extending from the body portion. When the distal connector is coupled to a mating connector, the stopwatch may abut the first pusher leg such that the at least one contact is recessed within the stopwatch. When a force applied to the proximal connector exceeds a predetermined threshold the stopwatch may be separated from the first pusher leg and the at least one contact may extend proximally to activate a timer of the stopwatch.
