In a branched connector 40 used in a catheter 100, the branched connector 40 comprises a first end portion 44 to which a catheter main body 10 is attached and having a first hole portion 43 communicating with the catheter main body 10 being formed at the first end portion 44, and a second end portion 49 including an elastic member and having a second hole portion 48 for inserting a wire-like instrument 20 being formed in the elastic member, and the second hole portion 48 communicates with the first hole portion 43 and has a flow passage area smaller than a flow passage area of the first hole portion 43.
Conduit connector for a patient breathing device
In an embodiment, a connector or connector assembly for attaching a nasal cannula with a gas delivery hose includes a sensor port for a sensor probe positioned near an end of a nasal cannula, which can allow the sensor probe to be placed closer to the patient's nostrils than previous connector parts allowed. The connector can be configured to advantageously allow the nasal cannula to rotate relative to the gas delivery hose, thereby allowing a patient or healthcare provider to untangle or otherwise straighten the hose or the cannula. The connector assembly can be configured to automatically align locking protrusions on a first component with locking recesses on a second component, where insertion of the second component within the first component causes the second component to rotate relative to the first component, thereby aligning the locking protrusions with associated locking recesses.
System for closed transfer of fluids
A system for the closed transfer of fluids that provides substantially leak-proof sealing and pressure equalization during engagement of a cannula with a vial, during transfer of a substance from a vial chamber to a barrel chamber via the cannula, and during disengagement of the cannula from the vial is disclosed. The leak-proof sealing of the system substantially prevents leakage of both air and liquid during use of the system. The system of the present disclosure also permits pressure equalization between a vial and the system when the system is attached to the vial. The system is compatible with a needle and syringe assembly for accessing a medication contained within a vial for administering the medication to a patient.
A CONNECTOR FOR FORMING A FLUID FLOW PATHWAY
A connector for forming a fluid flow pathway by connection with a reciprocal connector. Both the connector and reciprocal connector include a fluid flow blockage partsheathed within an axially compressible sheath part. A first bearing surface receives an urging force to retract the blockage part axially along the sheath part. A terminal end of the sheath part defines a second bearing surface containing a fluid flow opening with the fluid flow blockage part retractably therein. A first chassis part includes a first catch part. A second chassis part includes a second catch part and a third bearing surface spaced from the second catch part along the second chassis part. Retraction of the blockage part forms a fluid flow pathway not sooner than immediately when the openings meet to allow fluid transfer the openings avoiding fluid leakage between connected connectors.
Acoustic frequency recognition of patient lines
A fluid injector system includes a powered fluid injector, a connection port configured to receive a single-use disposable set having tubing connected to a fluid inlet port at a first end and connected to a waste outlet port at a second end, and a detector associated with the connection port and configured to generate a signal in response to a sonic, infrasonic, or ultrasonic wave emitted from the single-use disposable set during a priming operation of the single-use disposable set. In some examples, the detector is configured to generate a signal if the frequency of the wave emitted from the single-use disposable set is outside a predetermined range of frequencies corresponding to a predetermined range of frequencies of air expelled from the tubing. A method for detecting the multiple uses of a single-use disposable set connected to a fluid injector system is also provided.
COUPLING SYSTEM FOR A CLOSED FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEM
A coupling system for a closed fluid transfer system includes at least one coupling member and at least one counter coupling member. The coupling member includes a coupling member sealing member that has at least one reversibly openable and closable coupling member sealing member opening in the region of the covering of the fluid conduit opening facing the coupling side At least one activation member engages the coupling member sealing member. The counter coupling member includes a counter coupling member sealing member. The counter coupling member sealing member includes a reversibly openable and closable counter coupling member sealing member opening in the region of the counter coupling side end face, and is configured to move the activation member to a position with minimum distance to the fluid connection upon coupling. The counter coupling member sealing member opening is opened in a connected state by the coupling member sealing member.
INFUSION PUMP METHODS, SYSTEMS AND APPARATUS
A system for priming an infusion pump is disclosed. The system includes a priming cap including a septum and configured to matably connect with a male part comprising a needle and attached to a length of tubing for fluid, wherein when matably connected with the male part, the priming cap occludes the tubing.
Luer lock adaptor
A luer lock adaptor including a housing defining an axis, an internal luer lock element having a threading, the internal luer lock element being located internally of the housing and being rotatably mounted thereto for rotation about the axis relative to the housing, in a manner which permits rotation of the luer lock element relative to the housing in a first rotation direction about the axis and limits rotation of the luer lock element relative to the housing in a second rotation direction about the axis, opposite to the first rotation direction, whereby the location of the internal luer lock element internally of the housing prevents manual access to the internal luer lock element for limiting rotation thereof in the first rotation direction.
ASEPTIC COUPLING ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF ASEPTIC COUPLING
An aseptic low-temperature coupling assembly includes a first connector, a second connector, and a gasket disposed in the first or the second connector. The first and second connectors include a first retaining feature and a second retaining feature configured to couple together the first and the second connectors and align openings in the first and second connectors. The gasket is formed to have no substantial deformation after being cooled to at least −50° C. then heated to ambient temperature. A method of aseptically connecting a low-temperature fluid storage container includes coupling a first connector to a second connector via first retaining features and second retaining features of the connectors. The coupling compresses a gasket between the first connector and the second connector and aligns an opening in the first connector with an opening in the second connector.
Reusable aseptic fluid couplings
Some fluid coupling devices described herein are configured for use in fluid systems for purposes of providing a repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling system. Such repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling systems are configured to facilitate multiple connection and disconnection cycles while repeatably establishing a sterile fluid pathway through the coupling system. The repeatable, aseptic fluid coupling systems can repeatably establish a sterile fluid pathway through the coupling system even though the coupling system may be used in a non-sterile environment.
