Breathing tube assemblies for use with a respiratory therapy device, such as a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device, includes an elbow that permits adjustment of a position of the breathing tube assembly relative to the respiratory therapy device. In some arrangements, the breathing tube assembly includes a breathing tube and a swivel elbow. The breathing tube is rotationally fixed relative to the respiratory therapy device and the swivel elbow rotatable relative to the breathing tube. In other arrangements, the breathing tube assembly includes an elbow that can be coupled to the respiratory therapy device in one of several possible positions.
OXYGEN SUPPLY QUICK CONNECT ADAPTER
Disclosed herein are embodiments of an oxygen quick connect device and method of using the same, the quick connect device includes a female coupling that has a first end and second end and a bore extending longitudinally through the first and second ends and further includes a biased plunger disposed within the bore of the female coupling and configured to reciprocate within, a seal member disposed on the plunger and configured to seal at a location on the bore of the female coupling, a catch device disposed at a second end of the female coupling body, and mechanism for connecting the female coupling to an oxygen supply source. The device also includes a male insert that has a first end and a second end and a first bore extending longitudinally through the first and second ends and groove for engaging with the catch device.
Clip for urinary drainage system
A clip retains tapered connector members which joining tubing sections of a medical fluid drainage system, such as a urinary collection system. The clip has first and second ends configured to bear against external flanges projecting from the tapered connector members. A central body of the clip applies a controllable compression force to the first and second ends for urging the connector members together. The first and second ends include sub-fingers for snapping onto a respective one of the tapered connector members.
Infusion pump assembly
An infusion pump assembly includes a locking tab and a pump barrel inside a pump barrel housing, where the pump barrel accommodates a reservoir assembly. The reservoir assembly includes a reservoir and a plunger rod. The infusion pump assembly also includes a locking disc at a terminus of the pump barrel. The locking disc includes a clearance hole for the plunger rod. The locking disc also includes at least one locking tab notch in close proximity with the locking tab. The locking tab is in moveable engagement with the locking tab notch, and the reservoir moves the locking tab from a locked position to an unlocked position when the plunger rod is inserted through clearance hole. The locking disc rotates upon torque being applied to the reservoir assembly, the locking disc rotating from a non-loaded position to a loaded position with respect to the plunger rod and a drive screw.
MECHANISMS FOR PREVENTING RECONNECTION OF CONNECTORS INTENDED FOR SINGLE USE
A single-use connector configured to be removably connected to a reusable connector includes a hollow, tubular housing having an open proximal side opposite a distal side along a longitudinal length of the housing and at least one guard member connected to the tubular housing. The at least one guard member is configured to transition between an open position, in which the single-use connector can be connected to the reusable connector, and a closed position in which the guard member prevents the single-use connector from being connected to the reusable connector. Disconnecting the single-use connector from the reusable connector causes the at least one guard member to transition from the open position to the closed position. A single-use disposable set (SUDS) including a single-use connector and at least use guard member for preventing reconnection of the connector to a reusable connector or fluid port is also disclosed.
Male bayonet connector
A releasable connection assembly for connecting tubing sections is disclosed. The assembly includes a dual lumen male bayonet connector and a female latch connector. The dual lumen male bayonet connector includes a first shaft and a second shaft, where each of the first and second shafts includes a distal sealing portion defining a sealing surface, a proximal coupling portion, and an annular channel. The female latch connector includes a proximal end, two sealing members and a distal end. A kit is also disclosed. The kit includes a dual lumen male bayonet connector, a blood pressure cuff, and two sections of medical tubing. The two sections of medical tubing engage each of the proximal coupling portions of the first shaft and the second shaft and the blood pressure cuff.
FLUID ACCESS DEVICES AND METHODS
Fluid access devices include a machine-side hydraulic circuit and a patient-side hydraulic circuit, and are configurable between a connected state and at least one disconnected state. In the connected state, fluid flows between the machine-side hydraulic circuit and the patient-side hydraulic circuit. In the disconnected state, fluid does not flow between the machine-side hydraulic circuit and the patient-side hydraulic circuit. In some disconnected states, fluid recirculates through at least one of the machine-side hydraulic circuit or the patient-side hydraulic circuit in the disconnected state.
LUER CONNECTOR WITH ON-BOARD CONNECTION INDICATOR
A connector connection indicator is mounted in a Luer male connector, or in a Luer female connector, to indicate proper mating of the two Luer connectors. The connection indicator may be or include a light source, a sound producing device (e.g., buzzer), a switch, a tactile connection indicator or an electronic chip. The electronic chip may be interposed between two conductive elements that are mounted in the Luer female connector. When the two Luer connectors are properly engaged, the electronic chip is powered via two electrical terminals. While the electronic chip is powered up it communicates with an external system via two electrical terminals. The external system interprets the communication with the electronic chip as an indication to proper engagement of the two Luer connectors. Some of the connection indicators may be mounted on a circuit board that is embedded in a void in the Luer male connector.
MEDICAL DEVICE ADAPTER WITH LUER LOCK OUTPUT FITTING
A connector for medical devices (e.g., a syringe) allows tubing to be securely connected to a medical device output. Medical devices have male Luer lock ports for tubing connection. Tubing has a female Luer member with conical threads for leak-tight connection to a threaded male Luer member. Here, a first tubular connector member extends from a medical device output for axial fluid flow. A first connector body has a flange rearward of the outward end, and a nose end that tapers radially inwardly toward the outward end. A second tubular connector member is coaxial with the first connector member. An axially divergent portion of the second connector acts as a sheath for the nose end of the first connector, with a first end surrounding a portion of the first connector and with a second flange forward of the first end abutting the first flange of the first connector. The second flange has latch members with flexing endwise teeth that rearwardly project through holes in the first flange, whereby the two connectors latch securely.
Needle free connector with a collapsible resilient membrane fitting and corresponding method
A needle free connector for fluid passage having a valve body with a first port; a second port; a hollow resilient membrane disposed in the valve body and having: a first end and a second end is disclosed. A flank is provided and extends between the first end and the second end fitting with the internal surface of the valve body. A slit of the first end is closed when the first end is disposed in the first port or opened when the first end is pushed into the valve body. The disclosure also proposes a drug recipient including a bottle or a bag designed to store drug and the needle free connector. The disclosure offers a needle free connector with a slitted resilient membrane having reduced priming volume.
