The window surface defines a window extending from the outer hub surface to the inner hub surface. The latch member includes at least one blade. The latch member is configured to be actuated between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the at least one blade is not positioned within the window of the hub member. In the second position, the at least one blade is positioned at least partially within the window of the hub member.

Waste management system

A waste management system and method of use. The waste management system includes a waste transport device and a waste collection device. The waste transport device includes a generally tubular body, a distal end section configured for disposition and maintenance in a patient's rectum, and a proximal end section including a first connector biased in a sealed position. The waste collection device includes a second connector. The first connector is transitioned to an unsealed position when the first connector is secured to the second connector.

Coupling Mechanism for Medical Devices

A releasable coupling mechanism for coupling a delivery catheter and a dilator. The delivery catheter comprising a first mating member at the proximal end and the dilator comprising a second mating member at the proximal end. The proximal end of the first mating member comprises a first coupling means for releasably receiving a second coupling means which is positioned at a distal end of the second mating member. The first mating member further comprising a coupling member the coupling member comprising a pair of engagement members positioned on opposing sides of the coupling member and configured to releasably engage the second coupling means. The first mating member further comprising at least one indicia perpendicular from the pair of engagement members. The indicia indicate an orientation of the first mating member such that the second mating member disengages from the coupling member by simultaneously deflecting the pair of engagement members.

Aseptic Coupling Devices

An aseptic coupling device includes: a main body defining a front face; a membrane coupled to the front face, the membrane including a first portion coupled to the front face and a second portion folded over on the first portion; and a low friction member positioned between the first and second portions of the membrane.

The present invention relates to a peritoneal dialysis system comprising at least one peritoneal dialysis machine, wherein the peritoneal dialysis system furthermore has at least one water unit for preparing and/or metering water and at least one concentrate container, wherein the concentrate contains has at least one connector or is in communication therewith and wherein the water unit and/or the peritoneal dialysis machine has at least one receiver for the connector, wherein the connector has at least one piece of information, preferably in the form of a barcode, that represents the quantity of the water to be filled into the concentrate container or enables conclusions thereon, and wherein the water unit or the peritoneal dialysis machine is configured to read this information and to carry out or initiate the addition of water in accordance with the information read.

Breakaway connector

A breakaway connector generally includes a first valve having a first rotating-type fluid control member, and a second valve that is attachable to the first valve and has a second rotating-type fluid control member. Each of the fluid control members has an open position in which fluid is permitted to flow through the respective valve, and a closed position in which fluid is prevented from flowing through the respective valve. Each one of the valves is configured to engage the fluid control member of the other one of the valves to move the fluid control member from the open position to the closed position upon detachment of the valves from one another.

A medical connector includes a body having a distal end, a proximal end, and a sidewall extending between the distal end and the proximal end, a helical thread extending radially outward from a surface of the sidewall and comprising a crest portion, flank portions, and a root portion with the flank portions connecting the crest portion to the root portion, and at least one deformable protrusion extending radially outward from the root portion of the helical thread.

System for Closed Transfer of Fluids
20200093694 · 2020-03-26 ·

A system for the closed transfer of fluids that provides substantially leak-proof sealing and pressure equalization during engagement of a cannula with a vial, during transfer of a substance from a vial chamber to a barrel chamber via the cannula, and during disengagement of the cannula from the vial is disclosed. The leak-proof sealing of the system substantially prevents leakage of both air and liquid during use of the system. The system of the present disclosure also permits pressure equalization between a vial and the system when the system is attached to the vial. The system is compatible with a needle and syringe assembly for accessing a medication contained within a vial for administering the medication to a patient.
