FEMALE CONNECTOR

A female connector (1) includes a female member (10). An inner circumferential face of the female member (1) includes a first region (11), and a second region (12) that is arranged on a tip side of the first region (11). The first region (11) is composed of a female tapered face whose inner diameter increases toward the tip of the female member. The second region (12) is composed of a cylindrical face whose inner diameter is constant along a central axis direction.

Retention feature for soft interface connection

A retention feature configured to provide interference between a threaded connection of a Luer access device and a separate device, wherein the Luer access device further comprises a septum that provides a soft interfaced between the two threadedly connected devices. The retention features of the instant invention are designed to provide the user with a tactile sensation of a tightening threaded connection, despite a soft interface between the interconnected devices. The retention features of the instant invention further prevent spring back and unintentional disengagement of the interconnected devices.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR FORMULATION PROCESSING

Apparatuses and methods for controlling transfer of substances to a formulation container to provide a predetermined formulation. A controller may utilize one or more of a flow time, flow rate or a volume of transfer of substance. Barcoded and RFID-containing components may be used to determine what connection or disconnection has been made, and/or time thereof. Process compliance may compare measured or determined flow or connection time, flow rate and/or the transfer volume to a predetermined time, flow rate and/or volume, and adjust one or more of the time, flow rate and/or the volume of the transfer. An optional holder or cradle is configured to receive therein a fluid transfer connector formed by the connection of first and second connector portions, each in fluid communication with a flow conduit or channel that delivers substance to or receives substance from its respective connector portion, only if the connector portions are properly connected together. One or more sensors may be used to determine identification information of the connector and/or flow rates of substance through the connector.

Medical coupling and medical system comprising medical coupling

A coupling for fluid-tight connection of two fluid-guiding portions in medical applications. The coupling is an axially lockable quick-connect coupling and comprises a male coupling portion having a continuous first passage and a female coupling portion adapted to be slipped over the male coupling portion and having a continuous second passage. A preferably circumferential radial sealing is provided on the outer periphery of the male coupling portion and/or on the inner periphery of the female coupling portion.

PRESSURE CATHETER CONNECTOR

A connector for connecting a pressure sensing catheter to charger is provided. The connector can include a first engagement portion engageable with a charger engagement portion of the charger to displace a pressure transmission medium in the charger engagement portion to charge one or more balloons of the pressure sensing catheter. The connector can have a handle that includes a tab terminating in an end surface engageable with an engagement surface of the charger when the first engagement portion engages with the charger engagement portion. The connector includes a distal abutment portion that engages with a portion of the charger engagement portion to provide an audible or tactile feedback, so as to prevent inadvertent overcharging of the balloons.

System for closed transfer of fluids

A system for the closed transfer of fluids that provides substantially leak-proof sealing and pressure equalization during engagement of a cannula with a vial, during transfer of a substance from a vial chamber to a barrel chamber via the cannula, and during disengagement of the cannula from the vial is disclosed. The leak-proof sealing of the system substantially prevents leakage of both air and liquid during use of the system. The system of the present disclosure also permits pressure equalization between a vial and the system when the system is attached to the vial. The system is compatible with a needle and syringe assembly for accessing a medication contained within a vial for administering the medication to a patient.

A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.
