The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.

Male bayonet connector

A releasable connection assembly for connecting tubing sections is disclosed. The assembly includes a dual lumen male bayonet connector and a female latch connector. The dual lumen male bayonet connector includes a first shaft and a second shaft, where each of the first and second shafts includes a distal sealing portion defining a sealing surface, a proximal coupling portion, and an annular channel. The female latch connector includes a proximal end, two sealing members and a distal end. A kit is also disclosed. The kit includes a dual lumen male bayonet connector, a blood pressure cuff, and two sections of medical tubing. The two sections of medical tubing engage each of the proximal coupling portions of the first shaft and the second shaft and the blood pressure cuff.

LUER CONNECTOR WITH ON-BOARD CONNECTION INDICATOR

A connector connection indicator is mounted in a Luer male connector, or in a Luer female connector, to indicate proper mating of the two Luer connectors. The connection indicator may be or include a light source, a sound producing device (e.g., buzzer), a switch, a tactile connection indicator or an electronic chip. The electronic chip may be interposed between two conductive elements that are mounted in the Luer female connector. When the two Luer connectors are properly engaged, the electronic chip is powered via two electrical terminals. While the electronic chip is powered up it communicates with an external system via two electrical terminals. The external system interprets the communication with the electronic chip as an indication to proper engagement of the two Luer connectors. Some of the connection indicators may be mounted on a circuit board that is embedded in a void in the Luer male connector.

Medical connector

Some embodiments comprise a connector including a rigid housing having a first end and a second end. A second member can be positioned at a second end portion of the housing and be engageable with a second device. The second member can have a body portion having a first body portion, a second body portion, and a flow lumen extending axially through the body portion, an annular covering portion extending in a radial direction away from the body portion, a receiving portion extending away from the covering portion in an axial direction, and at least one protrusion extending radially away from an outside surface of the body portion. In some embodiments, the second member can be supported by the housing such that, in an assembled state, the first body portion is positioned within the housing and such that the annular covering portion and the second body portion are positioned outside the housing.

MEDICAL COUPLING AND MEDICAL SYSTEM COMPRISING MEDICAL COUPLING

A coupling for fluid-tight connection of two fluid-guiding portions in medical applications. The coupling is an axially lockable quick-connect coupling and comprises a male coupling portion having a continuous first passage and a female coupling portion adapted to be slipped over the male coupling portion and having a continuous second passage. A preferably circumferential radial sealing is provided on the outer periphery of the male coupling portion and/or on the inner periphery of the female coupling portion.

Aseptic coupling devices

An aseptic coupling device includes: a main body defining a front face; a membrane coupled to the front face, the membrane including a first portion coupled to the front face and a second portion folded over on the first portion; and a low friction member positioned between the first and second portions of the membrane.

Connecting system, injection system for the injection of a medical fluid and method of operating such an injection system

A connecting system for connecting a medical tubular line to a medical fluid transfer system, the tubular line including a plug-in component with a first fluid channel and the fluid transfer system including a coupling component with a second fluid channel. The plug-in component can engage in the coupling component to establish a passageway for a medical fluid, which passageway connects the fluid channels to one another. By disposing a first passive transponder in the plug-in component and a second passive transponder in the coupling component at a distance below a predefined threshold value relative to one another, communication of a read/write unit with both transponders via a single antenna is made possible when the plug-in component is engaged in the coupling component so that identification data for the identification of the tubular line and the fluid transfer system stored in the transponders can be read by a read/write unit via a single antenna.

Conduit connector for a patient breathing device

In an embodiment, a connector or connector assembly for attaching a nasal cannula with a gas delivery hose includes a sensor port for a sensor probe positioned near an end of a nasal cannula, which can allow the sensor probe to be placed closer to the patient's nostrils than previous connector parts allowed. The connector can be configured to advantageously allow the nasal cannula to rotate relative to the gas delivery hose, thereby allowing a patient or healthcare provider to untangle or otherwise straighten the hose or the cannula. The connector assembly can be configured to automatically align locking protrusions on a first component with locking recesses on a second component, where insertion of the second component within the first component causes the second component to rotate relative to the first component, thereby aligning the locking protrusions with associated locking recesses.

Infusion pump methods, systems and apparatus

A system for priming an infusion pump is disclosed. The system includes a priming cap including a septum and configured to matably connect with a male part comprising a needle and attached to a length of tubing for fluid, wherein when matably connected with the male part, the priming cap occludes the tubing.

Methods, Devices, and Systems for Coupling Fluid Lines

Fluid couplings prevent or discourage misconnection of fluid lines. In embodiments, a coupling device includes multiple male and female connectors that are joined to a common line. The coupling device is mated to a matching coupling device only when all the multiple male and female connectors are properly joined. If any of the connectors is not properly mated to a corresponding one, the coupling will leak, since the connectors on each side are joined to a furcating channel. In embodiments, the coupling devices are made unique by providing an arrangement of the connectors, number of connectors, shape of connectors or arrangement of interfering connector parts that ensure that any attempt to improperly couple two fluid lines will result in the incomplete mating and thereby cause leakage of the fluid, failure of the coupling to engage, or otherwise cause the attempt to connect to fail.
