SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING THE PRESENCE AND CORRECTNESS OF A MEDICAL DEVICE ACCESSORY
A medical device accessory comprising an interface configured to connect the medical device accessory with a medical device for administration of a medical treatment using the medical device and the medical device accessory, a plurality of electrical contacts proximate the interface, the electrical contacts comprising a lead electrical contact adapted to receive an voltage from a power source associated with the medical device and one or more identifying electrical contacts, and at least one conductor providing an electrical connection between the lead electrical contact and the one or more identifying electrical contacts. An arrangement of the one or more identifying electrical contacts connected to the lead electrical contact identifies a characteristic of the medical device accessory.
Injection Site Information Cap
A injection site information cap includes a housing, a cover portion, an engagement portion configured to couple to and cover an injection port of an injection site, and at least one information element on the cover portion that is positioned to be automatically sensed by at least one sensor of the injection site when the engagement portion is coupled to or is being coupled to the medication injection port. Related apparatus, systems, and techniques are also described.
Syringe adapter with secure connection
A syringe adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the housing defining a passageway, and a connector body having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the connector body having a connection member configured to be secured to a mating connector. One of the housing and the connector body includes a tab and the other of the housing and the connector body defines a channel that receives the tab, with the connector body movable relative to the housing between a first position where the connector body is restricted from rotating relative to the housing in a first rotational direction and free to rotate relative to the housing in a second rotational direction, and a second position where the connector body is free to rotate in the first and second rotational directions.
TUBING MARKERS
Invisible tube markers for use in infusion sets are provided. An infusion tube includes a tube marker that is invisible under standard lighting conditions and is positioned from a tube end at a distance equal to the distance between an external edge and a hard stop of a fluid port of an infusion set component. Under special lighting, the tube marker becomes visible and provides an external visual indicator of the fit between the infusion tube and the infusion set component, such as whether there is a gap between the end of the infusion tube and hard stop of the fluid port. The tube marker may be pad printed on the tube. Methods of providing tube markers are also provided.
Connection System for Medical Device Components
A connection system for connecting a first medical device component to a second medical device component is disclosed. The connection system of the present disclosure provides for quick and intuitive coupling and decoupling of two opposing medical device components through the use of a connection path and a disconnection path, the connection path being distinct from the disconnection path. Furthermore, the connection system of the present disclosure provides audible and tactile connection feedback through the use of elastically deformable connection elements.
Connector system for releasably connecting fluid conduits
Disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, for example medical tubing, and methods of making and using such a connector system, whereby the connector system includes a female coupler having a first passageway, a male coupler having a second passageway, a catch movably coupled to the female coupler, and a catch-receiving element coupled to the male coupler. The connector system further includes a release element movably coupled to the female coupler, whereby travel of the release element along or over a female coupler outer surface of the female coupler disengages the catch from the catch-receiving element to achieve a disconnected condition of the connector system. Further disclosed herein are embodiments of a connector system for releasably connecting together tubes, whereby the connector system includes at least one valve biased by a valve-biasing member disposed external to or outside of the fluid flow path.
Luer connector with on-board connection indicator
A connector connection indicator is mounted in a Luer male connector, or in a Luer female connector, to indicate proper mating of the two Luer connectors. The connection indicator may be or include a light source, a sound producing device (e.g., buzzer), a switch, a tactile connection indicator or an electronic chip. The electronic chip may be interposed between two conductive elements that are mounted in the Luer female connector. When the two Luer connectors are properly engaged, the electronic chip is powered via two electrical terminals. While the electronic chip is powered up it communicates with an external system via two electrical terminals. The external system interprets the communication with the electronic chip as an indication to proper engagement of the two Luer connectors. Some of the connection indicators may be mounted on a circuit board that is embedded in a void in the Luer male connector.
VENTILATOR APPARATUS AND METHOD
A respiratory treatment apparatus configured to provide a flow of breathable gas to a patient, including a breathable air outlet, an outside air inlet, and an pneumatic block module, wherein the pneumatic block module includes: a volute assembly including an inlet air passage, a mount for a blower and an outlet air passage; the blower being mounted in the mount such that an impeller of the blower is in a flow passage connecting the inlet air passage and the outlet air passage; a casing enclosing the volute assembly, wherein air passages within the casing connect air ports on the volute assembly, wherein the inlet air passage of the volute assembly is in fluid communication with the outside air inlet and the outlet air passage of the volute assembly is in fluid communication with the air outlet.
KEYED FLUID LINE CONNECTORS AND METHODS
Medical connectors, including connectors for fluidly coupling fluid lines are disclosed. Some connectors may be configured for coupling fluid lines together including keying features to enable coupling of connector pairs having corresponding keying features and prevent coupling of connector pairs having non-corresponding keying features.
