A shutter assembly includes a frame with a pair of elongate side members and a pair of elongate cross members extending between the side members. The first side member includes an inwardly-facing frame surface in a region between the pair of cross members and further includes a frame-ledge extending inward beyond the inwardly-facing frame surface. The shutter assembly includes a shutter panel having a first stile pivotally coupled to the first side member of the frame, the shutter panel configured to swing between a closed position and an open position relative to the frame. The first stile includes a shutter recessed surface, and a shutter-ledge extending outwardly beyond the shutter recessed surface. For light-blocking purposes the shutter assembly is configured such that the shutter-ledge is positioned adjacent to the frame-ledge when the shutter panel is in the closed position.

High performance fenestration system
10337239 · 2019-07-02 ·

A high-performance fenestration system that includes a pressure chamber formed between longitudinally adjacent fenestration members. The pressure chamber is positioned on one side of the thermal break. The fenestration system can be configured so to create a continuous pressure chamber around the closed perimeter of the fenestration between the frame and sash. The resulting fenestration system enjoys significantly better water penetration resistance as compared with conventional high-performance doors and windows. Because of the positioning and structural configuration of the pressure chamber, the fenestration system can be configured to accept different hinge styles including Euro-style and American-style hinges without significant loss of performance. In addition, the system can accept American-style door hardware or Euro-style door hardware.

The present disclosure provides for a security door system for a retail store setting. The security door system, in general, provides for a locked case that is easier to install, lighter weight, and more robust than current security door products and is further made, in part, of an unbreakable clear polycarbonate. The present security door system thereby limits or prevents a thief from being able to steal a retail product protected by the security door system.

A shutter assembly includes a shutter panel with a first and a second stile, each stile having a front stile-face and a rear stile-face. The shutter panel also includes a first and a second rail, the rails extending between the stiles, each rail comprising a front rail-face and a rear rail-face. In addition, the shutter assembly includes a stile bisection plane passes midway between the front and rear stile-faces, and a rail bisection plane passes midway between the front and rear rail-faces. The rail bisection plane is offset from the stile bisection plane.

A door alignment system may include a door assembly including a first door and a second door, a striker assembly configured to positively align a first mating edge of the first door and a second mating edge of the second door when the first door and the second door are moved into a closed position, the striker assembly including a striker coupled to the first mating edge and a striker receptacle coupled to the second mating edge and configured to receive the striker, and a rail assembly configured to maintain alignment of the first mating edge and the second mating edge when the first door and the second door are in the closed position, the rail assembly including a convex first rail coupled to the first mating edge and a concave second rail coupled to the second mating edge and configured to engage the convex first rail.

Configurable astragal and snap feature for fenestration systems

An astragal for a fenestration system includes at least first and second slots running along opposite sides of the astragal, each slot is configured to receive a stile of a panel of the fenestration system. The slots may be in different planes or in a common plane, and may be different depths or the same depth. In some embodiments, additional slots are provided in the astragal, on one or both sides of the astragal, and the astragal may be used in various placements and configurations within multi-panel door or window systems. A snap clip may be included within one or more of the slots to engage a stile when received in the slot and secure the panel to the astragal. Covers may fill slots that are not utilized in a particular panel configuration.

Configurable door system with plural panels

A configurable door system includes a first and second door panel, an astragal, and a frame. The frame defines a first axis and is configured to pivotally support the door panels in a first configuration of the door system and in a second configuration of the door system. The first door panel is disposed to one side of the second door panel along the first axis within the frame in both the first and second configurations. The door system, in the first configuration, includes the astragal fixed to the first door panel and releasably attaches the first door panel to the frame, and the second door panel is releasably secured to the astragal.
