Force-Controlled Release Connector with Integrated Safety Features
A connector includes an outer housing defining a lumen, a first male coupler mateable with a needle-free valve and positioned at a first end of the outer housing, a second male coupler positioned at a second end of the outer housing, a valve system to control fluid flow through the lumen, and an actuator movable within the outer housing between a first position and a second position. A pinch clamp of the connector operates to selectively deflect locking fingers of the actuator from a locked position to a movement position to selectively enable or prevent movement of the actuator from the first position to the second position. The actuator, based on its positioning in the first or second position, causes the valve system to be in a closed state or an open state and blocks or allows the first coupler to couple with the needle-free valve.
MEDICINAL PRODUCT, FUNCTIONAL PART FOR A MEDICINAL PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR STERILIZING AND/OR FOR PRODUCING STERILIZATION STABILITY IN A MEDICINAL PRODUCT OR FUNCTIONAL PART
A medical device, an elastically deformable functional part for a medical device, and a method for sterilizing and/or for establishing sterilization resistance of a medical device or an elastically deformable functional part. The elastically deformable functional part has an openable slit arrangement. The slit arrangement widens or opens upon elastic deformation of the elastically deformable functional part and recloses upon cessation of the elastic deformation. The slit arrangement has slit wall faces with a separating agent. The separating agent can be a solid.
Closed male luer device for use with needleless access devices
A medical connector can include a body having a fluid path with an inlet port, an outlet port, a luer portion, and a post extending through a fluid path. An arm having a latch member is coupled to the body to engage a ridge or thread on an exterior surface of a reciprocal connector. The arm may also include an extension. When the connector is in an open position, the latch member restricts retraction of the reciprocal connector from the outlet port. A seal is coupled to the body and includes a flap extending across the outlet port or a bellows to compress along an axis. In a closed position, the post restricts flow through the luer portion. In an open position, the post permits flow through the luer portion.
Fluid Line Connector Devices Methods and Systems
A frangible connector has a first side that forms a female luer when a second side is fractured at a predefined break line. The second side may be connected to a fluid circuit, for example, a source of medical treatment fluid such as dialysate.
BREAKAWAY MEDICAL TUBING CONNECTOR
A breakaway medical tubing connector and method for joining two sections of medical tubing includes a pump side member and a patient side member positioned axially opposite from the pump side member. The patient side member has a first channel disposed within the pump side member and a first valve disposed within the first channel. The pump side member has a second channel disposed within the patient side member and a second valve disposed within the second channel. The first valve may be an active valve and the second valve may be a passive valve. A securing bar may be disposed on the pump side member and a securing arm may be disposed on the patient side member for providing a detachable coupling of the two members.
CONTAINER FOR A MEDICAL LIQUID
A container for a medical liquid, comprising a connection piece via which a medical liquid can be pumped into or out of the container, an attachment part which can be attached to the connection piece and connected to a pump device to pump a medical liquid or out of the container, and a sealing element for sealing a passage between the connection piece and the attachment part. The sealing element has a slot opening which is closed against a liquid flow when the pump device is not attached to the attachment part and which is open when the pump device is attached to the attachment part such that a medical liquid can be pumped through the slot opening. The attachment part has a connection portion with an opening into which the connection piece can be inserted along an insertion direction in order to connect to the attachment part.
CONNECTOR COUPLING ASSEMBLY
A coupler including a first connector having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a first valve disposed between the first end and the second end. The first valve having a compressed state and an expanded state. The coupler includes a second connector having a housing, a connecting portion extending from the housing, and a second valve disposed at least partially within the housing, the second valve having a compressed state and an expanded state. The coupler further includes a collar coupled to the housing of the second connector and configured to receive at least a portion of the first connector to detachably couple the first connector to the collar and the second connector such that the housing of the second connector is at least partially disposed within the first connector.
CONNECTOR COUPLING ASSEMBLY
A coupler including a first connector having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a valve extending from an area proximate the second end to an area proximate the first end, a second connector having a mating portion and a connecting portion opposite the mating portion, and a collar having a connecting end detachably coupled to the mating portion and an engaging end disposed opposite the connecting end, the collar including a thread detachably coupled to the engaging end the thread configured to couple to at least a portion of the first connector to detachably couple the first connector to the collar and the second connector, such that the first connector, the collar, and the second connector form a fluid pathway. The first connector and the thread are configured to decouple from the collar while the collar remains coupled to the second connector.
Fluid connector system
Fluid connector systems including first and second connector portions couplable together to form a fluid pathway therethrough, and can resist fluid flow through the connector when the connector portions are separated from each other. A connector portion can include a connector housing, a luer portion, and a deformable valve member. The deformable valve member is disposed within the connector housing and includes a spherical portion extending partially through a valve opening of the connector housing. The spherical portion defines a slit, and the deformable valve member is configured to selectively prevent fluid flow from the housing volume through the valve opening and to deform to expand the slit and permit fluid flow from the housing volume through the valve opening.
LUER TO LUER TISSUE MORSELIZER
A morselizer comprising (a) a hollow cylindrical structure with an inner wall and an outer wall and comprising a first end section, a second end section, and a center section extending axially between the first end section and the second end section providing a substantially axial liquid pathway therein; (b) wherein each end section comprises a axially and radially hollow luer fitting that is attachable to a structure with a complementarily sized luer fitting; and (c) one or more blades extending transversally across the inner diameter of the center section wherein (i) each blade is comprised of a plurality of ends, including a posterior end secured to at least the center wall section inner wall at a center section inner wall first position and an anterior end proximal a center section inner wall second position opposite the center section inner wall first position, with a gap positioned between the blade anterior end and the center section inner wall second position, and (ii) at least two ends comprise cutting ends.
