DUAL DECONTAMINATION MECHANISM DEVICE
The present invention relates, in some embodiments thereof, to systems, devices, connection ports, and methods allowing for an engagement of two or more pharmaceutical vessels, containers, or pharmaceutical administration devices in a decontaminated and/or sterile manner. In some embodiments of the invention, the systems, devices, connection ports, and methods of the invention include a dual decontamination action device having a wiping member and a removable sealing member, a system comprising a device having a wiping member and a removable sealing member and a connection port having a removable sealing member. A first removable sealing member attached to a housing of a device is provided, the housing further comprising a wiping member configured to move across the housing; and a connection port having a removable sealing member, both removable sealing members configured to displace from the engagement between the device and the connection port while a hermetically sealed connection is maintained between the device and the connection port. In some embodiments of the invention, the systems, devices, connection ports and methods include a wiping member that is configured to wipe off the surface(s) of the engaged device and connection port, thus providing a decontaminated/sterile fluid communication between the device and the connection port.
MEDICAL TUBING SYSTEM
A medical tubing system whereby the tubing is configured to break apart when subjected to forces, thereby reducing the risk of patient strangulation through accidental entanglement or deliberate self-harm attempt.
Surgical instrument system including replaceable end effectors
A surgical instrument system that includes a housing and a rotatable drive shaft, a motor operably coupled to the drive shaft, and a plurality of replaceable end effectors that can be connected to the housing. Each replaceable end effector includes a drive screw that is turned a fixed number of revolutions by the motor-driven rotatable drive shaft when the end effector is connected to the housing. Each end effector further comprises a firing member operably coupled with the drive screw of the end effector. The drive screw is configured to displace the firing member over a firing length as a result of the fixed number of revolutions. In certain embodiments, each replaceable end effector can include a drive screw with a thread pitch set to the firing length divided by the fixed number of revolutions.
Breakaway medical tubing connector
A breakaway medical tubing connector and method for joining two sections of medical tubing includes a pump side member and a patient side member positioned axially opposite from the pump side member. The patient side member has a first channel disposed within the pump side member and a first valve disposed within the first channel. The pump side member has a second channel disposed within the patient side member and a second valve disposed within the second channel. The first valve may be an active valve and the second valve may be a passive valve. A securing bar may be disposed on the pump side member and a securing arm may be disposed on the patient side member for providing a detachable coupling of the two members.
Tubing system
The breakaway assembly includes a first breakaway subassembly and a second breakaway subassembly. The subassemblies are configured to connect, which causes bellows sheaths in each subassembly to compress and open pores, allowing fluid to flow through the subassemblies. The subassemblies can be connected to luer tip. The luer tips can be connected to an intravenous (IV) fluid line or other types of lines used in the medical field to move fluids. This allows the movement of fluid from a fluid-holding component to a patient. Unless the subassemblies are locked together, the subassemblies will be disconnected under the correct amount of pressure. This disconnection closes the pores on the subassemblies, which keeps fluid from leaking, and prevents the contamination of the IV line. Luer tips may also be connected to the subassemblies. Some of the luer tips allow for the quick connection of the luer tip to the subassembly through a flange being inserted into a notch or flange acceptor. This allows for the quick and easy replacement of components of a fluid transfer assembly.
Sterility retaining medical connector assembly and method
A medical connector assembly for establishing a fluid connection between a first medical device and a second medical device includes a multi-use connector and a plurality of single-use connectors connected in series. The multi-use connector has a proximal end opposite a distal end along a longitudinal length thereof. The plurality of single-use connectors each have a proximal end opposite a distal end along a longitudinal length thereof. The distal end of the multi-use connector is releasably connected to the proximal end of a first of the serially-connected single-use connectors. When a second of the serially-connected single-use connectors is disconnected from the first single-use connector, the first single-use connector remains connected to the multi-use medical connector as a sterility retaining cover.
MEDICAL DEVICE
Medical devices are provided comprising a spike including proximal and distal ends, and a central axis extending from the proximal to the distal end; a valve body; a biasing body which biases the valve body; a distal tube that moves integrally with the valve body to both sides in the axial direction relative to the spike; a proximal tube fixed in the axial direction relative to the spike, the distal tube comprising a guided portion guided toward the proximal tube, and an engagement control unit which moves the guided portion toward one side in the radial direction by connection of the different medical device to the distal tube allowing the guided portion to engage with the proximal tube, and moves the guided portion toward the other side in the radial direction releasing engagement with the proximal tube when the different medical device is detached from the distal tube.
NEEDLELESS CONNECTOR WITH IN-LINE FILTER
Needleless connectors are described herein. A needleless connector includes a housing comprising a cavity and a proximal fluid port in fluid communication with the cavity. The connector further includes a filter support disposed at least partially within the cavity. The filter support can include a distal fluid port in fluid communication with the proximal fluid port. The connector further includes a filter disposed circumferentially around the filter support and between the proximal fluid port and the distal fluid port.
STERILE AND STERILIZED PACKAGE FOR ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICINAL OR NUTRITIONAL SUBSTANCES
A package for administration of fluid medicinal or nutritional substances features an outer bag with a sterile or sterilized inner chamber and inside chamber a bottle of medicinal or nutritional substance with a neck, a pierceable cap and a device for the withdrawal and/or reconstitution of the substance, placed below the cap of the bottle. The device comprises a perforation needle axially movable to the bottle and an outflow tube extending out of the bag equipped with an openable closure. The perforation needle is crossed longitudinally by a first channel connecting with the closure set open to the outflow tube, and a second channel with a side opening equipped with a hydrophobic filter configured to allow, after perforation of the cap, only air or other gaseous fluids to flow from inside the bottle into the inner chamber of the bag or vice versa.
