Systems, devices and methods for controlling and utilizing smart windows
A window is described, comprising a frame, a sash, a window pane mounted in the sash, a computer system, the computer system comprising a housing, the housing configured to be mounted into a receiving area of the frame, into the sash, into a window valence, or into a window casing. A processing device is located within the housing. Non-transitory memory located within the housing configured to store instructions to be executed by the processing device, a network interface, at least a first sensor fixed to the casing, frame, or window pane, the first sensor coupled to the computer system, wherein the computer system is configured to take at least a first action in response to at least a first sensor reading from the first sensor.

Sash guide
A sash guide for a hung window includes a plate having a first end and an opposite second end defining a longitudinal axis. The first end configured to mount to a side rail of a window sash and the second end having an outside surface spaced from the side rail in a transverse direction. The transverse direction being substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. A cam block is disposed proximate the second end and between the plate and the side rail. An adjustment fastener is coupled to the cam block and configured to slide the cam block along the longitudinal axis such that the outside surface of the second end is adjustable along the transverse direction and in relation to the side rail.
Breakaway sash lug for hung windows
A breakaway sash lug assembly for a hung window includes a sash mount seat attachable to a window sash and a lug body rigidly attached to the sash mount seat via a releasable coupling that is configured to release at least one side of the lug body from the sash mount seat upon application a relatively small external force on the lug body. The releasable coupling may inhibit damage from inadvertent contact between the lug body and other portions of the hung window, for example during tilting of the sash for cleaning. The releasable coupling may include a hinge and a latch and/or a snap attachment.
Window protector device and method for making same
A window protector device and method is provided that includes a polycarbonate receptacle configured to be received in an outermost groove of a double-hung tilt-wash window frame, a multi-wall polycarbonate rectangular cuboid panel configured for being received in said receptacle via a two sided adhesive material, the device being coupled to double-hung tilt window sashes via buckled straps disposed in horizontally oriented slotted apertures with the straps sandwiched between the receptacle and the panel, with the ends of the straps extending outwardly from the panel for strapping onto the respective window sashes.
Sash retention system
A fenestration assembly comprises a frame having a first jamb and a second jamb parallel to and spaced from the first jamb; a movable sash movably mounted to the frame; a fixed sash fixedly attached to the frame; a plurality of clips coupling the fixed sash to the frame; and an adhesive connector securing an outer face of the fixed sash to the frame.
