ENTERAL FEEDING CONNECTOR
A medical tubing connector includes a first connector portion configured for connecting to a mating second connector. A tube engagement portion is integral with and opposite the first connector portion and configured for connecting to a medical tube. A liquid passage extends through the first connector portion and the tube engagement portion. The first connector portion includes a continuous outer surface for sealing engagement with the mating second connector. An annular portion is integral with and surrounds the male connector portion. A connecting portion connects the first connector portion to the annular portion. The connecting portion is discontinuous permitting liquid to pass through the connecting portion so that liquid is prevented from pooling between the first connector portion and the annular portion.
Safety cap for medical devices
A cap for medical fluid lines and the like includes a hollow body within which a male or female connector accessible at one end of the body is coaxially housed. The connector is configured to inviolably obstruct the passage through the body. A unidirectional coupling locks in rotation the connector with respect to the body in the direction corresponding to the screwing of the connector, and a complementary connector, and to enable free rotation of the connector in the opposite direction. The connector can be possibly locked in rotation with respect to the body in the unscrewing direction, only following a positive command.
Asexual fluid connector having a clamp and protection
Fluid-connection device for connecting a flexible pipe defining a first fluid space to a second flexible pipe or a flexible fluid enclosure in a biopharmaceutical assembly, includes a first connector and a second connector equivalent thereto, the first connector and second connector adapted to be coupled together in a genderless manner, by an insertion movement that is essentially an axial translation, into a relative coupling position, which defines a mating plane, each of the connectors including, in an alternating manner along the circumferential direction, N flexible snap-fitting tabs and N stop surfaces, the flexible snap-fitting tabs projecting axially forwards relative to the mating plane, and the stop surfaces being set back from the mating plane so that, in the coupling position, the snap-fitting tabs of one connector clip into place on the stop surfaces of the other connector, such that the resulting position is locked by the snap-fitting tabs.
Pump cassette and methods for use in medical treatment system using a plurality of fluid lines
A fluid handling cassette, such as that useable with an automated peritoneal dialysis (APD) cycler device or other infusion apparatus, may include a generally planar body having at least one pump chamber formed as a depression in a first side of the body and a plurality of flowpaths for a fluid that includes a channel. A patient line port may be arranged for connection to a patient line and be in fluid communication with the at least one pump chamber via at least a first one of said flowpaths, and an optional membrane may be attached to the first side of the body over the at least one pump chamber. In one embodiment, the membrane may have a pump chamber portion with an unstressed shape that generally conforms to the depression of the at least one pump chamber in the body and is arranged to be movable for movement of the fluid in a useable space of the at least one pump chamber. One or more spacers may be provided in the at least one pump chamber to prevent the membrane from contacting an inner wall of the at least one pump chamber. The patient line, a drain line, and/or a heater bag line may be positioned to be separately occludable in relation to one or more solution lines that are connectable to the cassette.
DISPOSABLE COMPONENTS FOR FLUID LINE AUTOCONNECT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Components for a medical infusion fluid handling system, such as an APD system, in which one or more lines (such as solution lines), spikes or other connection ports may be automatically capped and/or de-capped. This feature may provide advantages, such as a reduced likelihood of contamination since no human interaction is required to de-cap and connect the lines, spikes or other connections. For example, a fluid handling cassette may include one or more caps that cover a corresponding spike and include a raised and/or recessed feature to assist in removal of the cap from the cassette. A solution line cap may include a hole and recess, groove or other feature to engage with a spike cap and enable removal of the cap.
Connector with seal element and adapted connector parts
Certain aspects of the invention relate to a connector including at least one first connector part and at least one second connector part. The connector parts can be connected to one another in a fluid-tight manner and can be locked to one another via at least one closure element. One of the connector parts has at least one sealing element (e.g., a septum or a sealing disk) that blocks a throughflow in the closed state and which can be opened, and the other one of the connector parts has at least one opening element for opening the sealing element. One of the connector parts has at least one projection and the other one of the connector parts has at least one receiver, and the opening element and the sealing element are arranged with respect to one another such that the opening element only opens the sealing element when the projection has been introduced into the receiver.
Connector for connecting a first medical line to a second medical line
A connector for connecting a first medical line to a second medical line is disclosed. This connector comprises an insertion shaft (12) having a flow channel that is intended to be brought into fluid communication with a lumen of a first medical line (3); a collar (10) that circumferentially extends around the insertion shaft (12), wherein the collar (10) comprises a first thread (100) on an inner side that faces the insertion shaft (12); and an elastic member (14) that is placed between the insertion shaft (12) and the collar (10), wherein the elastic member (14) comprises an abutment portion (141) abutting a surface of the insertion shaft (12) and being displaceable relative to the surface of the insertion shaft (12). The collar (10) is radially movable around the insertion shaft (12) and the elastic member (14) comprises a thread portion (142) having a second thread that engages the first thread (100) of the collar (10) such that a rotational movement of the collar (10) around the insertion shaft (12) results in a lateral displacement of the elastic member (14) along the surface of the insertion shaft (12). Furthermore, a method for operating such a connector is disclosed. Additionally, a connector assembly comprising such a connector is disclosed.
CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY WITH DISLODGEMENT PREVENTION
A connector assembly including a luer having a first end and second end opposite the second end, the luer having a luer body and a luer pin disposed within the luer body, and being configured to axially move relative to the luer pin, a catheter coupler having an opening and a valve, the catheter coupler configured to couple to the luer such that at least a portion of the luer pin is disposed through the opening and into the valve to form a fluid pathway between the luer and the catheter coupler, and a connector coupled to the luer such that the luer body is at least partially disposed within the connector. The connector having an engaged position and a disengaged position and configured to transition from the engaged position to the disengaged position in response to a pullout force.
CLOSED MALE LUER DEVICE FOR USE WITH NEEDLELESS ACCESS DEVICES
A medical connector can include a body having a fluid path with an inlet port, an outlet port, a luer portion, and a post extending through a fluid path. An arm having a latch member is coupled to the body to engage a ridge or thread on an exterior surface of a reciprocal connector. The arm may also include an extension. When the connector is in an open position, the latch member restricts retraction of the reciprocal connector from the outlet port. A seal is coupled to the body and includes a flap extending across the outlet port or a bellows to compress along an axis. In a closed position, the post restricts flow through the luer portion. In an open position, the post permits flow through the luer portion.
AXIALLY ENGAGING MEDICAL CONNECTOR SYSTEM WITH DIMINISHED FLUID REMNANTS
A connector system for medical fluid includes a male connector and a female connector that have a closed configuration when detached from one another. The first end of the male connector is configured to mate with a first end of the female connector. When the male connector is coupled with the female connector, complementary structures engage to move seals away from ports in the male connector and the female connector, opening a fluid pathway through the connectors. The mating ends of the connectors are not exposed to the medical fluid when the connectors are coupled so that when the connectors are disconnected, the mating ends are substantially free of residual medical fluid.
