Vascular Access Device to Dispense Blood for Point-Of-Care Testing

An instrument advancement device may include a housing, which may include a distal end and a proximal end. An instrument, such as a vascular access instrument configured to enter vasculature of a patient, may be disposed within the housing. The instrument advancement device may include an advancement element. In response to movement of the advancement element with respect to the housing, the instrument may be configured to advance distal to the distal end of the housing. The housing or a distal end of the housing may include a compressible portion proximate a chamber configured to hold blood. In response to compression of the compressible portion, the housing may be configured to dispense blood distally from the chamber through the distal end of the housing.

A luer lock adaptor including a housing defining an axis, an internal luer lock element having a threading, the internal luer lock element being located internally of the housing and being rotatably mounted thereto for rotation about the axis relative to the housing, in a manner which permits rotation of the luer lock element relative to the housing in a first rotation direction about the axis and limits rotation of the luer lock element relative to the housing in a second rotation direction about the axis, opposite to the first rotation direction, whereby the location of the internal luer lock element internally of the housing prevents manual access to the internal luer lock element for limiting rotation thereof in the first rotation direction.

In general, medical sheath systems that include a curved support sheath are described. In one embodiment, the support sheath includes a curved tube includes a distal portion fixed in an orientation perpendicular to the proximal end during advancement of an interventional tool through the support sheath.

A THERAPY SYSTEM FOR RESPIRATORY-RELATED DISORDERS, AND PATIENT INTERFACE AND HEADGEAR FOR USE IN SAME

The present technology relates to a patient interface for delivery of a flow of pressurised air to an entrance of a patient's airways, the patient interface comprising a mask with a seal-forming structure and one or more positioning and stabilising structures configured to provide a force to hold the mask in a therapeutically effective position on a patient's head in use. The mask and one or more of the positioning and stabilising structures includes a connection port to receive an end of the air circuit. The pressurised air is delivered from the air circuit to the seal-forming structure. In use, the patient connects the air circuit to the connection port of choice, depending on whether they prefer the patient interface to be arranged such that the end of the air circuit is superior to the patient's otobasion superior or inferior to the patient's otobasion superior.
