JOINT FOR A FENESTRATION UNIT
A mitre joint for a metallic frame of a fenestration unit includes first and second frame members; a connector configured to locate the first and second frame members in relation to one another; and first and second fasteners configured to secure the first and second frame members to the connector. The connector has a first arm configured to extend within a hollow profile defined by the first frame member, and a second arm configured to extend within a hollow profile defined by the second frame member. A longitudinal axis of each of the first and second fasteners is configured to be parallel to a longitudinal axis of the respective connector arm. Each of the first and second fasteners is configured to engage the respective frame member when the respective connector arm extends within said frame member.
Multidirectional aluminum extrusion connection device
A multidirectional aluminum extrusion connection device includes a direction-change coupling member having two ends respectively forming first and second coupling sections arranged in an angularly-staggered manner to extend in different directions for each connectable with a connection member. A first aluminum extrusion plate is provided to receive one of the connection members to extend therethrough so as to be set at a location corresponding to the first coupling section. A second aluminum extrusion plate is provided to receive the other one of the connection members to extend therethrough so as to be set at a location corresponding to the second coupling section. The first and second aluminum extrusion plates are thus connected in an angularly staggered manner to form a connection module having and defining a corner. The connection members may be additionally connected two pre-prepared aluminum extrusion parts for respectively coupling to the first and second aluminum extrusion plats.
FENESTRATION TRIM ASSEMBLY
A corner key for a fenestration trim assembly includes a sloped bearing surface configured to bias a first lineal toward a second lineal about the longitudinal axis of the second lineal.
Window frame and/or opening frame
Disclosed is a fixed frame or opening frame, resulting from an assembly of joinery profiles, forming the mullions and the cross-members of the frame, with the profiles of the mullions and the cross-member profiles being assembled by their ends. The frame includes at least one device for compressing, including at least one mechanical connection extending interiorly along an intermediary portion of the frame, the at least one mechanical connection connecting by its ends of supports of the device for compressing, the supports being integral respectively with mullions or cross-members, on either side of the intermediate portion of the frame, the mechanical connection being solicited in traction in order to provide the maintaining under constraint of the ends of the joinery profiles of the intermediate portion of the frame against the corresponding ends of the joinery profiles, arranged on either side of the intermediate portion, belonging to the mullions or cross-members.
JOINT FOR THE ANGULAR CONNECTION OF HOLLOW PROFILE MEMBERS AND METHOD USING SUCH JOINT
Joint for the angular connection of a pair of hollow profile members (50) having an angular configuration corresponding to the angle of the assembled profile members (50) and comprising a slide base portion (2, 2, 2), a sheet metal portion (1, 1) superimposed thereupon and a bolt (5) passing through the sheet metal portion (1, 1) and screwed into a nut (4) mounted onto the base portion (2, 2, 2), wherein tightening of bolt (5) pushes upwardly extending surfaces on either side of portion (1, 1) whereby their sharp edges indent the walls of the hollow profile members being connected. The indentation and efficient angular connection of the hollow profile members is enhanced through: a) forming of the sharp edges of the sheet metal to align an aberrant edge thereof in an indentation appropriate direction, b) appropriately orienting the sheet metal portion (1, 1) to comply with a set of predetermined geometrical parameters and c) selectively employing varying embodiments of the slide base portion to obtain rapprochement of the points of indentation of the walls being indented.
Fenestration trim assembly
A corner key for a fenestration trim assembly includes a sloped bearing surface configured to bias a first lineal toward a second lineal about the longitudinal axis of the second lineal.
Spacer element for a double glazed article
A spacer element for a double glazed article, a kit for assembling the spacer element, and a double glazed article including the spacer element. The spacer element includes a frame section. The frame section has a first substantially planar mounting surface located on a first side of the frame section for mounting a first sheet of glass on the spacer element at a periphery of the first sheet of glass. The frame section also has a second substantially planar mounting surface located on a second side of the frame section opposite the first side, for mounting a second sheet of glass on the spacer element at a periphery of the second sheet of glass. The spacer element also has a cavity located in-between the first and second mounting surfaces for accommodating a lock and/or roller mechanism of the double glazed article at a periphery of the double glazed article.
Secure corner assembly for high-strength windows
Windows and secure corner assemblies are generally described. The windows may include a sash having stiles arranged on vertical sides thereof and rails arranged on horizontal sides thereof. Primary reinforcement members may be arranged within the stiles. Secure corner assemblies may be configured to be arranged within corners of the sash formed by intersections of the stiles and the rails. The secure corner assemblies may include at least one secondary reinforcement member arranged on an external surface of one of the rails, such as a top rail. A tilt mechanism may be configured to be coupled to a primary reinforcement member and the at least one secondary reinforcement member, thereby providing a continuous reinforcement connection around the window sash. Vinyl windows using corner assemblies according to some embodiments may have increased pressure ratings compared to vinyl windows that do not include such corner assemblies.
Frame with segments that are flush with each other
A frame with segments that are in flush with each other is disclosed. The frame of the present invention comprises a plurality of segments, a plurality of outer retaining units and a plurality of inner retaining units. The segments are connected together to form a frame. Each outer retaining unit is disposed on the rear outer side of the juncture of each pair of neighboring segments.
