CONNECTOR WITH ROTATABLE TUBE
A connector is provided comprising a hollow connector body having a central aperture and a hollow tube that is rotatable within the central aperture without rotating the hollow connector body.
SPIGOT TUBE COUPLER WITH BONDING AGENT GROOVE
Spigot tube couplers for fluid flow sets and devices are provided. The spigot tube coupler includes a stop surface and a spigot extending from the stop surface and configured to be inserted into a tube. The spigot includes an insertion end, a fluid port, an outer surface, a collar and a plurality of grooves disposed around the outer surface. The plurality of grooves are configured to receive a bonding agent to provide a plurality of bonding areas between the spigot and the tube. Methods for assembling a spigot tube coupler and a tube are also provided.
TUBE TWIST TUBING OCCLUDER
A tube occluder includes a body within which an end of the tube is attached; a twisting lug formed with or attached to the tube, the twisting lug including an outwardly extending shape; and a sleeve in rotational communication with the body, the sleeve including an internal profile that matingly engages the outwardly extending shape of the twisting lug, the sleeve rotatable relative to the body in a first direction such that the internal profile causes the twisting lug to twist the tube closed, the sleeve rotatable in a second direction such that the internal profile causes the twisting lug to twist the tube open. A tube occluding method includes enabling a user to rotate the sleeve relative to the body, causing the internal profile to turn the twisting lug and to twist the tube closed while the end of the tube remains secured within the body.
Flanged sealing element and needle guide pin assembly for a fluid infusion device having a needled fluid reservoir
A sealing assembly for a fluid infusion device includes a base plate, a reservoir port receptacle, a flow base component, and a needle sealing element. The receptacle receives the reservoir port, and has proximal and distal ends, and a needle entry in the distal end to receive a hollow needle of a fluid reservoir. The flow base component has an inlet structure defining a fluid chamber, and a needle guide pin protruding therefrom. The end of the guide pin fits within the hollow needle. The needle sealing element has a proximal flange adjacent to the inlet structure, a distal flange opposite the proximal flange, a neck section between the flanges, and a needle opening extending through the neck section. The needle sealing element is positioned within the port receptacle such that the neck section surrounds the end section of the needle guide pin.
Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion
A method is provided for facilitating urine output from the kidney, including: (a) inserting a catheter including: a drainage lumen including a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis and a proximal portion, the distal portion including a retention portion including a funnel support including at least one sidewall, wherein the funnel support includes a first diameter and a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter, the second diameter being closer to an end of the distal portion of the drainage lumen than the first diameter, wherein the proximal portion of the drainage lumen is essentially free of or free of openings; and (b) applying negative pressure to the proximal portion of the drainage lumen for a period of time to facilitate urine output from the kidney.
Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion
A ureteral catheter includes a drainage lumen having a proximal portion configured to be positioned in at least a portion of a patient's urethra and/or bladder and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis, and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis. The distal portion includes a retention portion for maintaining positioning of the distal portion of the drainage lumen. The retention portion includes a plurality of sections, each section having one or more openings on a sidewall of the retention portion for permitting fluid flow into the drainage lumen. A total area of openings of a first section of the plurality of sections is less than a total area of openings of an adjacent second section of the plurality of sections. The second section is closer to a distal end of the drainage lumen than the first section.
MEDICAL DEVICE ADAPTER
An adapter constructed to have a proximal portion that interfaces with the internal lumen of a medical device and a distal portion that modifies, augments or extends the configuration or intended use of the medical device. The proximal portion of the adapter interfaces with the internal lumen of the medical device in a manner to secure the adapter to the medical device during use. The distal portion of the adapter is generally outside the lumen of the catheter or device.
SYSTEMS FOR SET CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY WITH LOCK
A set connector assembly for a fluid infusion device is provided. The set connector assembly includes a connector having a body. The body defines a graspable portion and a coupling portion, and the coupling portion is to be received within a portion of the fluid infusion device. The graspable portion has at least one locking tab to lock the connector to the fluid infusion device, and the graspable portion is movable relative to the body to move the connector between a first, locked position and a second, unlocked position relative to the fluid infusion device.
SYSTEMS FOR SET CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY WITH LOCK
A fluid infusion device is provided. The fluid infusion device includes a housing that includes a lock and a set connector assembly removably coupled to the housing to define a fluid flow path from the fluid infusion device. The set connector assembly includes a connector having a body that defines a graspable portion and a coupling portion. The coupling portion is receivable within the housing, and the graspable portion has at least one wing that defines a locking tab for engaging the lock. The at least one wing is movable relative to the body to disengage the locking tab with the lock.
