High tensile strength winder connection for downhole tools
A winder for a threaded connection of two axially aligned bodies where a first body comprises a male portion at an end connection portion and a second body has a female portion at an end connection portion. The female portion comprises a sleeve with a threaded portion on an internal face. The winder includes a winder ring encircling the male portion. The winder ring forms an internal surface and an external surface having a threaded portion. The internal surface of the winder ring includes a number of parallel grooves that are perpendicular to a rotational axis of the winder ring. A further male portion comprises external, circular grooves complementary to internal, circular ridges of the winder, and a threaded connection between two axially aligned bodies where the connection comprises the winder and the male portion.
SUBSEA HOUSING ASSEMBLY
A subsea housing assembly has a subsea housing with first and second housing portions having first and second electrical connections for data communication with a separating wall. An inductive coupler has first and second coupling sections disposed in the first and second housing portions and provides inductive coupling across the wall for data communication between the first and second electrical connections. The inductive coupler has inner and outer coils. The outer coil at least partly surrounds the inner coil and at least part of the wall extends between the inner and outer coil. Soft magnetic material is arranged around the outer coil and/or inside the inner coil where magnetic flux is collected and guided from the outer to the inner coil and/or from the inner to the outer coil. A support structure is provided around and/or inside the part of the wall extending between the inner and outer coil.
Connector assembly
A penetrator connector assembly is suitable for connecting two parts of an electrical conductor across a pressure barrier in an oil or gas well. The assembly includes a body with a bore for an electrical conductor, a sealing boot that seals an annular space between the conductor and the bore, and a port that transmits a pressure differential between the exterior of the body and the annular space, so that the pressure differential acts on one side of the sealing boot to apply a compressive force and enhance the seal. The assembly also has a spring that can be resiliently energised to apply a compressive force to the sealing boot independently of fluid pressure differentials.
Subsea flying lead
A subsea flying lead containing a fluid line including a tubing, wherein, in use, an electric current is transmitted along the tubing. Such a flying lead may be used in an apparatus and method for transmitting electricity to a component of an underwater hydrocarbon extraction facility.
Open Water Coiled Tubing Sealing Device
Dynamic/static sealing of coiled tubing subsea for pipeline and well access with hydrostatic conditions up to 10,000 feet water depth while maintaining wellbore or pipeline pressures up to 10,000 psi may be achieved using a system comprising a subsea fluid source which utilizes a riserless open water coiled tubing system and an open water coiled tubing sealer to control hydrostatic pressure and fluid container pressures. This comprises an upper well control assembly having a first geometric orientation and a lower well control assembly in fluid communication with the upper well control assembly aligned in a second geometric orientation substantially inverted to the first orientation; a quick disconnect connector in fluid communication with the upper well control assembly; one or more electrically powered subsea assist jacks operatively connected to the quick disconnect connector; a controller operatively in communication with the electrically powered subsea assist jacks; and a power connector operatively in communication with the source of electrical power, the controller, and the electrically powered subsea assist jack.
High voltage subsea connection assembly
High voltage, subsea connection assembly having a male part (101) comprising a male housing (103) with a liquid chamber (110), and a male housing aperture (107). A male pin (106) is positioned within the male housing aperture. A female part (1) has a female housing (5) with a liquid chamber (10) with a dielectric liquid, and a male pin receiving aperture (7). The male pin is axially movable into and out of the female housing (5). An aperture channel (8) has a rear section (12), the radial inwardly directed face of which together with an outer radial face of the male pin (106) defines a flushing gap (14) when the male pin (106) is positioned in the rear section (12). An exit channel (16) is arranged in the aperture channel, between the rear section, and the male pin receiving aperture or the male housing aperture.
Subsea electric actuator system
A technique facilitates coupling of an electrical actuator (20) with a subsea host (22). Effectively, mechanical and electrical connections are both formed during movement of the electrical actuator into engagement with the host. The electrical actuator is moved to a desired host location, and then the electrical actuator is guided into mechanical engagement with the host. During movement of the electrical actuator into mechanical engagement, a drive member (60) and at least one electrical connector (56, 58) of the actuator are operatively coupled with corresponding features of the host, thus enabling engagement of the actuator and host with a simple installation motion.
Safety sealing and reparation device and method for electrical cables that pass through wellheads
A modular safety apparatus adapted to allow the flow and create a mechanical seal for a series of electric conductors in wellheads, thus, ensuring pressure control and internal hydraulic integrity and allowing for a method to repair leaks and/or conductor cables that does not require the use of specialized well maintenance equipment, comprising a sealing case attached to a lower connector, joined to another main or intermediating sealing case. The case seals towards the pipe hanger and attaches to the upper connector that seals towards the upper section of the wellhead and attaches to the protective bushing or the upper sealing case to ensure control of well's pressure during its operation or reparation in case of leaks or failures.
In situ pressure balanced oil-filled cable connector integrity monitoring
The disclosure is related to a system and method for monitoring the integrity of fluid filled connector systems. The system includes a connector with a first space and a first measurement probe. A module or a receptacle is connected to the connector and includes first wiring that is coupled with second wiring in the connector. The module or the receptacle includes a second space in fluid connection with the first space. The first space and the second space include a fluid sealed within. The second space includes a second measurement probe. A measurement device is connected to the first measurement probe and the second measurement probe to determine an impedance value across the first space and the second space. The impedance value corresponds to an integrity measure for the system based at least in part on the fluid sealed within.
