Device for connecting medical disposable articles in a sterile manner
The invention relates to a device for sterile connection of single-use medical articles, consisting of an outlet connector (1), which has an outlet cylinder (4) that is equipped with a seal (6) and that is closed at one of its ends. A union nut (8) is provided on the outlet connector (1), and of an inlet connector (2), which can be connected with the outlet connector (1) and which is closed at one of its ends. The outlet connector (1) and the inlet connector (2) are respectively closed at their ends turned toward one another with a perforation seal (9, 9).
Catheter insertion device
Embodiments of a catheter insertion device are discussed comprising: an approximately hollow cylindrical catheter sleeve, at whose distal end a catheter is attached; a needle sleeve with a hollow needle, which is attached thereto and which, when ready for use, extends through the catheter sleeve and the catheter, and; a needle protective element that is arranged inside the catheter sleeve while being able to move on the needle. Said needle protective element has an engaging section that engages with an engaging device, which is formed in the vicinity of the needle tip, when the hollow needle is withdrawn from the catheter sleeve. A check valve is placed inside the catheter sleeve between the catheter and the needle protective element. The hollow needle, when ready for use, extends through said check valve, and the check valve automatically closes once the needle is withdrawn.
BREAKER DEVICE FOR ACTING ONTO A CLOSURE ELEMENT OF A MEDICAL TUBING
A breaker device for acting onto a closure element (40) of a medical tubing (4) comprises: a drive arrangement (2) having a drive device (20), a drive element (23) driven by the drive device (20) and at least one locking element (22A, 22B), and a breaker module (3) which is arrangeable on the drive arrangement (2). The breaker module (3) comprises a housing (30), a movable part (31) movably arranged on the housing (30), a breaking element (315) for acting onto the closure element (40) of the tubing (4) and a locking mechanism (32A, 32B). The breaker module (3) in an attached state is placed on the drive arrangement (2) and is locked to the drive arrangement (2) via the locking mechanism (32A, 32B) engaging with the at least one locking element (22A, 22B), the drive element (23) being in operative connection with the movable part (31) in the attached state such that a movement of the drive element (23) causes the movable part (31) to move for actuating the breaking element (315). The breaker module (3) is releasable from the drive arrangement (2) by disengaging the locking mechanism (32A, 32B) from the at least one locking element (22A, 22B). Herein, the locking mechanism comprises at least one actuation member (32A, 32B) which is displaceable between a first position and a second position with respect to the housing (30), wherein the at least one actuation member (32A, 32B) is constituted to act, in the first position, onto the movable part (31) to force the movable part (31) into a position in which the movable part (31) can be brought into operative connection with the drive element (20) when arranging the breaker module (3) on the drive arrangement (2), and to engage, in the second positon, with the at least one locking element (22A, 22B) of the drive arrangement (2) when the breaker module (3) is in the attached state.
Fluid Bypass Device for Valved Catheters
Bypass elements for medical valves and methods of using the same are disclosed. Embodiments of the invention include an insert having a tip that is adapted to displace a valve element without penetrating it, and a lumen that fluidly communicates with a lumen of a valve housing distal to the valve element when the bypass element is engaged. Bypass elements are used, in certain embodiments, to facilitate fluid pressure and ECG signal measurements through implanted medical devices including catheters.
Syringe Adapter
A syringe adapter is provided. The adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end. The housing may include a first portion and a second portion connected to the first portion. The first end of the housing can include a connector configured to be secured to a syringe barrel. The adapter also includes a cannula positioned within the housing and a seal arrangement including a membrane positioned within the housing and movable within the housing. The first portion of the housing can be connected to the second portion via axial and radial interference between the first portion and the second portion of the housing.
Active emergency supply valve
The present invention provides an emergency supply valve to support the in situ administration of a drug to a subject in need thereof, comprising an infusion needle connected to a movable piston, wherein said piston is forwarded by infusion solution unable to pass the regular drug line due to kinking or obstruction thereof, a self-sealing membrane that is disrupted by the infusion needle when the piston is in a forward position, a connecting unit that connects the needle to the regular drug conduit when the needle is in a forward position, and a pressure sensitive mechanism that retracts the piston from the forward position when an increased pressure of the drug supply is normalized and its use for the treatment of subjects in need thereof.
MEDICAL FLUID LINE CONNECTOR
A medical fluid line connector includes a main body configured to accept a corresponding connector, where the main body defines an opening permitting fluid communication between an interior region of the medical fluid line connector and the corresponding connector when the corresponding connector is connected to the main body. The connector also includes a breakaway body detachably connected to the main body, such that, when the breakaway body is inserted into an open end of a flexible medical fluid line, the breakaway body has a portion creating an interference fit against an inner surface of the flexible medical fluid line, and the breakaway body is detachable from the maim body such that detachment of the breakaway forms a second opening in the main body that permits fluid communication between the medical fluid line and the interior region of the medical fluid line connector.
MEDICAL CONNECTORS AND METHODS OF USE
Some embodiments disclosed herein relate to medical connectors with a housing comprising a proximal body member and a base member that form an internal cavity with a proximal abutment surface. A seal member and a rigid, hollow elongated portion are located within the internal cavity such that a proximal tip of the elongated member extends proximally within the internal cavity further than the abutment surface.
