System and method for establishing a bypass flow path within a wellbore liner
A system for establishing a bypass flow path includes a plug assembly having bypass ports extending from the exterior to the interior; a wiper dart to engage and seal the first flow path and bypass flow path, and initiate release of the plug assembly from a first position, the plug assembly having a dart nose attached to the dart body; once the plug has moved to a second position, pressure applied through the bypass ports communicates to the dart nose to cause detachment of the dart nose from the dart body; a first flow path extends through the central bore of the plug assembly when the wiper dart is not present; and a second flow path extends through the bypass ports on the plug assembly below the dart body to the detachable dart nose, once detached, the bypass flow path is established thru the bore below the dart body.
Method and apparatus for dropping a pump down plug or ball
An improved method and apparatus for dropping a ball, plug or dart during oil and gas well operations (e.g., cementing operations) employs a specially configured tool body assembly having valving members (e.g., safety or kelly values) and valving members holding plugs, balls, or darts to be dropped. In one embodiment, the ball(s), dart(s) or plug(s) are contained in a sliding sleeve that shifts position responsive to valve rotation. An optional indicator indicates to a user or operator that a ball or plug has passed a selected one of the valving members. A transmitter (or transceiver) provides an ability to generate a wireless signal that is received by receivers (or transceivers) on the tool body assembly. Each receiver (or transceiver) controls an electrical actuator that engages a valving member or the indicator. Wireless signals can be used to open or close a valve or to reset a “tripped” indicator.
MOBILE CEMENT MIXING AND DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR DOWNHOLE WELLS
An all-in-one mobile wellsite service unit for providing equipment and services at an oil and gas well related to well abandonment is provided. The mobile unit comprises a water storage tank, at least one cement mixing barrel for mixing a cement slurry, a progressive cavity pump for pumping the cement slurry, and a hydraulic hose for connecting to a hydraulic power source to provide power to the cement mixing barrel and the progressive cavity pump. The mobile unit may also contain downhole tools needed for well abandonment, including a well cleaning tool, a cementing tool, a hydraulic packer, and more.
Method for slim hole single trip remedial or plug and abandonment cement barrier
A new tool and methodology to work, in a single-trip system, and create conduits through the casing or tubing to access the annuli, circulate out the annuli contents, accurately deliver the cement required to create the subsequent barrier. The tool and system provide a cost effective way of plugging an oil and gas well in a single trip without the need to remove in-place production casing.
Sub-surface release plug system
A subsurface release plug system includes a plug mandrel body and a plug. The plug mandrel body includes a bore, a flow port fluidly connected to the bore, and a sleeve adjustable from a first position to a second position. The sleeve prevents fluid flow through the flow port when in the first position and allows fluid flow through the flow port when in the second position. The plug is releasably connected to the plug mandrel body, wherein the plug is configured to be released from the plug mandrel body by fluid flowing through the flow port.
Dual sub-surface release plug with bypass for small diameter liners
A dual plug system comprises a bottom plug and a top plug. The bottom plug comprises, a bottom plug mandrel, a plurality of first fins, and a first seat. The plurality of first fins is disposed between a first end and a second end of the bottom plug mandrel, and the first seat is disposed at the second end The top plug comprises a first end and a second end. The top plug further comprises a top plug mandrel, a plurality of second fins, a collar, and a sleeve. The plurality of second fins is disposed around the top plug mandrel covering at least a portion of the length of the top plug mandrel, and the collar is coupled to the top plug mandrel The dual plug system further comprises a connector, wherein the connector is coupled to the first end of the top plug.
EXPANDABLE METAL DISPLACEMENT PLUG
The present disclosure, in at least one aspect, provides a displacement plug for us in a wellbore tubular, a method for entering a well system, and a related well system. The displacement plug, in one aspect, includes a plug body for landing in a wellbore tubular, wherein at least a portion of the plug body comprises a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis to seal against the wellbore tubular. The displacement plug, in one or more aspects, additionally includes one or more displacement features engaged with the plug body for displacing the plug body downhole.
DUAL SUB-SURFACE RELEASE PLUG WITH BYPASS FOR SMALL DIAMETER LINERS
The disclosure provides a dual plug system, comprising a bottom plug, wherein the bottom plug comprises: a bottom plug mandrel; a plurality of first fins; and a first seat; wherein the plurality of first fins is disposed between a first end and a second end of the bottom plug mandrel, wherein the first seat is disposed at the second end; a top plug, wherein the top plug comprises a first end and a second end, wherein the top plug comprises: a top plug mandrel; a plurality of second fins; a collar; and a sleeve; wherein the plurality of second fins is disposed around the top plug mandrel covering at least a portion of the length of the top plug mandrel, wherein the collar is coupled to the top plug mandrel; and a connector, wherein the connector is coupled to the first end of the top plug.
Plug release system
A plug release system includes a tubular member having an outer surface and an inner surface defining a flow bore having a central longitudinal axis. A sleeve is positioned in the flow bore. The sleeve includes a first end having a radially outwardly extending annular lip, and a second end. A release mechanism is rotatably mounted in the tubular member radially offset from the central longitudinal axis. The release mechanism includes a sleeve support surface that selectively engages the radially extending annular lip. The release mechanism is rotatable between a first position wherein the sleeve maintains a plug in a retained configuration and a second position, wherein the sleeve releases the plug into the tubular member.
