Road Marking Scan and Transfer System
20170191233 · 2017-07-06 · ·

A system for applying roadway markings to roadways, including at least one imager for acquiring image data of original roadway markings on an original roadway surface. A first vehicle marking controller receives and stores the image data in combination with acquired location data associated with the original roadway markings. One or more milling tools mill the original roadway surface and create a milled surface. The one or more milling tools are positioned behind the at least one imager relative to a direction of travel. A first vehicle marking module is responsive to the first vehicle marking controller for applying roadway markings based on the location data of the original roadway markings and the image data, the first vehicle marking module positioned behind the one or more milling tools relative to a direction of travel.

A grinder truck with a computer controlled profiler in combination with a vehicle automated guidance system for guiding a vehicle and equipment secured to a vehicle for removing of road markings. The computer controlled profiler detects the position of one or more grinding, grooving, rumbling heads in the X, Y and Z position. A controller and one or more actuators are manipulated in response to ground markings visible in a camera field. A remote controller allows an operator to control grinder heads individually, and allows for precise adjustment based upon an operator's visual inspection.

Cutting tool, mounting bracket, and rotatable cutting head

A cutting tool, a mounting bracket for the cutting tool, and a rotatable cutting head are provided. The cutting tool includes a saddle portion configured to be secured to a mounting bracket, an aperture extending through the saddle portion, and at least one cutting bit attachment portion. The mounting bracket includes a base having a receiving slot configured to receive a cutting tool, a threaded recess extending at least partially through the base, and a curved bottom surface corresponding to a curvature of a cutting drum. The rotatable cutting head comprises a drive shaft connectable to a drive motor, a drum portion coupled to the drive shaft, the drum portion having a curved outer surface, a plurality of mounting brackets secured to the curved outer surface, and at least one cutting tool having at least one cutting bit attachment portion removably secured to at least one of the mounting brackets.

Grinding Wheel Assembly For Grinding Grooves Into Road Pavement

A grinding wheel assembly for grinding grooves into road pavement has a rotating wheel with a plurality of parallel tracks spaced around the periphery of the wheel. A number of blocks are removably secured to the tracks of the wheel. Bits are removably secured to the blocks in a predetermined pattern to grind parallel grooves in the road pavement as the wheel rotates and the assembly moves along the road pavement. The bits on each block are arranged in a predetermined pattern so that bits on adjacent blocks are not aligned to hit the same groove in the road pavement, but bits on selected non-adjacent blocks are aligned to hit the same groove in the road pavement during rotation of the wheel. Preferably, the bits have a conical, polycrystalline diamond tip and a cylindrical base.

The present invention provides a grinding wheel product which removes various construction materials such as concrete, asphalt, thermoplastic, traffic markings, lines or signal on the street or highway through rotating motion.

Material removal manufacture, assembly, and method of assembly

Milling-drumless products, systems, manufactures, and methods for removing material, such as concrete or asphalt, and a system and method of assembling material removal (for example, grinding and/or cutting) blade elements, or blade elements and spacers, to fabricate a configuration that eliminates a need for a large milling drum are provided. The method allows the configuration to be adjusted easily in a field situation to most any material removal width by exchanging, adding or subtracting blade elements and/or spacers.
