Quick coupler
09689139 · 2017-06-27 · ·

A quick coupler for coupling a tool like for example a scoop, shell grab or demolition tongs to a tool guide such as an excavator arm or the like, including a coupling receptacle for receiving a first locking part and a locking receptacle for receiving a second locking part, wherein to the coupling receptacle a securing element is associated for catching and/or securing the first locking part in the coupling receptacle, and to the locking receptacle a locking element is associated for locking the second locking part in the locking receptacle, wherein the locking element and the securing element are actuable via a common pressure circuit having an unlocking pressure port and a locking pressure port selectively connectable with a pressure source or a return line via a valve. The securing element is actuable by a double-acting, reversible actuator and is movable both into an opening and a closing position.

Coupler

A locking mechanism to secure a coupler's jaw, and a coupler incorporating the locking mechanism.

Coupler for coupling attachments to excavation machines

A quick coupler for coupling an attachment, such as a digging bucket, to an evacuator machine. The quick coupler includes a first fixed jaw for a first coupling pin of the attachment. The quick coupler includes a latch cooperating with the first fixed jaw, which is moveable to a latched position for retaining the first coupling pin. A moveable jaw is provided that is able to slide, under power of a hydraulic ram, to a closed position retaining the second coupling pin. A locking arm assumes a locked position, while the latch assumes the latched position, preventing withdrawal of the moveable jaw from the closed position. Consequently, in the event of a hydraulic failure the locking arm simultaneously locks both the first attachment coupling pin, by means of the latch, and the second attachment coupling pin by means of preventing movement of the movable jaw from the closed position.

A quick coupler and methods of coupling and decoupling a quick coupler and work tool are disclosed. The quick coupler includes a frame, cylinder, primary blocking member, secondary blocking member, biasing member, and controller. The method of coupling includes activating an AUTOMATIC LOCKING state, automatically locking a second tool pin within a hook, a first tool pin entering a notch, and activating a LOCKED state. The method of decoupling includes activating the AUTOMATIC LOCKING state, resting the work tool on a surface, activating an UNLOCKED state, and separating the quick coupler and work tool. Advantageously, the quick coupler can automatically lock the second tool pin without actuation of the cylinder.

An apparatus to couple a work tool to an arm assembly is disclosed. The arm assembly may have a first arm and a second arm. The work tool may have a first recess and a second recess. The apparatus may have a first pin that may engage with the first arm and the first recess. The apparatus may have a second pin that may engage with the second arm and the second recess. The apparatus may have an actuator coupled to the first pin and second pin. The actuator may move between a retracted position and an extended position. The apparatus may have a locking sleeve mounted at least partially around the actuator. The locking sleeve may be moveable into a locked position to prevent the actuator from moving into the retracted position from the extended position.

An apparatus to couple the work tool to the arm assembly is disclosed. The arm assembly may have at least one arm. The work tool may have at least one recess. The apparatus may have at least one pin member adapted to engage with the at least one arm and the at least one recess. The at least one pin member may rotate in the at least one recess between a locked orientation and an unlocked orientation. The at least one pin member couples the work tool to the arm assembly in the locked orientation, and the work tool is separable from the arm assembly in the unlocked orientation.

Bucket attaching structure of construction machine and construction machine

A bucket attaching structure of a construction machine and a construction machine including a fixed jaw portion attached to a distal end portion of an operation arm and a movable jaw portion attached to a distal end portion of a piston through a bucket link. The fixed jaw portion and the movable jaw portion are each partially open and each include a semicircular arc-shaped engagement portion that corresponds to an outer peripheral surface of a corresponding bucket connecting pin. The bucket attaching structure of a construction machine and the construction machine include semicircular arc-shaped closure portions that each support the bucket connecting pins together with the semicircular arc-shaped engagement portions by, after engaging each semicircular arc-shaped engagement portion with the corresponding connecting pin, closing a partially open side of the corresponding semicircular arc-shaped engagement portion of the fixed jaw portion and that of the movable jaw portion.

Quick coupler

A coupler for securing an attachment to an earth working machine. The coupler comprises a coupler body that presents a receptacle having a capture region. A pin of an attachment can move into and out of the capture region. A retainer can capture the pin in the capture region but the retainer can be moved by a hydraulically driven driver to a position to allow release the pin from the capture region. A trigger that the pin will strike when the pin moves into or out of the capture region, decouples the driver from the retainer and the retainer is then allowed to be biased back to its retaining position by a spring.

QUICK COUPLER

A quick coupler includes a coupler body having a first hook, a lock member, a slidable second hook, a hydraulic cylinder, and a connecting pin connecting the cylinder and coupler body. The lock member is movable between locking and unlocking positions in which the lock member protrudes into and retracts from an opening of the first hook. The cylinder includes first and second end portions connected to the coupler body and the second hook, respectively. The cylinder extends and contracts to cause the second hook to slide away from and towards the first hook, respectively. The coupler body includes a support hole moveably supporting the connecting pin in an extension and contraction direction of the cylinder. The first end portion of the cylinder moves away from the second end portion within a movability range of the connecting pin to move the lock member from the unlocking to locking position.

Coupler

A coupler including a housing with a top part for attachment to an excavator arm of an excavator, and a bottom part for attachment to an accessory for the excavator, such as an excavator bucket, the bottom part including a front jaw open to a front of the coupler for receiving a first attachment pin of an accessory and a rear pin receiving area for receiving a second attachment pin of the accessory, a latching member for the rear pin receiving area, the latching member including a body, a further jaw extending below the body, a release member extending forward of the body, an attachment point for an end of an actuator and a hole through the body into which a sprung member is located, wherein the sprung member extends through and to under the body and into or partially across a mouth of the further jaw.
