The support structure may include an opening extending through the support structure and a connector configured to couple the catheter priming apparatus to a catheter system. A one-way valve may be coupled to the support structure and configured to allow the fluid to flow out of the reservoir through the connector in response to compression of a portion of the barrier aligned with the opening.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A VALVE

Disclosed is a system including a flow regulating system. The flow regulating system may assist in ensuring a selected pressure within an inlet volume. The flow regulator may be included in a shunt assembly.

RESPIRATORY VALVE APPARATUS AND RELATED METHODS

Aspects of the current subject matter can include systems, devices and methods related to embodiments of a respiratory valve apparatus. The respiratory valve apparatus can include a first port configured to couple to a ventilator, a second port configured to couple to a resuscitation bag or a transport ventilator, a third port configured to couple to an endotracheal tube, and a piston within a housing of the respiratory valve apparatus. The piston can include a first flow pathway that allows fluid flow between the first and third ports when in the first position and a second flow pathway that allows fluid flow between the second and third ports when in a second position. The piston can prevent fluid flow between the second and third ports when in the first position and prevent fluid flow between the first and third ports when in the second position.

FLUID DISTRIBUTION DEVICE

A fluid distribution device comprises a disposable enclosure, and disposable fluid connectors connectable to compatible panel connectors of a control system. The fluid distribution device can also comprise, within the enclosure, a two manifolds connected to each other via a plurality of fluid interconnectors each being controllable by a valve system. One manifold can comprise a fluid inlet for receiving fluid from one of the panel connectors, and the other manifold can comprise a plurality of fluid distribution ports adapted for establishing fluid communications between the fluid interconnectors and fluid lines external to the fluid distribution device.

Dual-pump system for delivering embolic beads or other therapeutic substances into an artery

A suspension of a therapeutic substance (e.g., embolic beads) dispersed within a liquid can be delivered via a catheter by using a bidirectional pump to rapidly draw the mixture of the therapeutic substance and liquid from an external syringe into an internal reservoir, then rapidly push the mixture back out into the external syringe. The rapid operation of the bidirectional pump mixes the two constituents so that the therapeutic substance is temporarily suspended within the liquid. Then, a low-speed pump is used to inject the mixture out via the catheter. In some embodiments, the parameters of the low-speed pump are controlled so that the fluid exiting the catheter will experience laminar flow. When the therapeutic substance comprises embolic beads, this can advantageously prevent reflux of the embolic beads, which can be dangerous.

A valve is disclosed that has a body with an inlet, an outlet, and a needleless access port coupled to the body. The access port has an interior space and is configured to be actuated by a needleless connector. The inlet is selectively coupled to the outlet through the interior space such that fluid entering the inlet entirely flows through the interior space to the outlet.

Multi-use blood control safety catheter assembly

A catheter assembly comprises a catheter (18), a needle (12) having a sharp distal tip disposed within the catheter (18), a catheter hub (14) connected to the catheter (18) having the needle (12) passing therethrough, the catheter hub (14) including a valve (38) that selectively permits or blocks a flow of fluid through the catheter (18), a valve actuator (54) that moves between a first position and a second position, and a return member (56) that returns the valve actuator (54) from the second position to the first position, and a needle protection member (176) that encloses the sharp distal tip of the needle (12).

Complex irrigation/suction flow path in a medical device

A suction/irrigation medical device comprises a valve body having one or more conduits fluidically coupled thereto and a first channel extending through the valve body. The medical device also comprises a first valve plunger disposed along the first channel and configured to move along an axis to open and close the first channel. The first valve plunger has a first opening to permit a fluid to flow through the first channel. The medical device also comprises a second valve plunger disposed along the first channel and along a second channel to couple the second channel into the first channel when the second valve plunger is in a first position. The second valve plunger has a second opening that has at least one dimension that is greater than a corresponding dimension of the first opening of the first valve plunger.
