A microvolume 3-way stopcock for use in a blood sampling system. The stopcock includes a stopcock body having a cylindrical-shaped central chamber, an inlet fluid passage extending from the central chamber to a connector, a blood sample fluid passage extending from the central chamber to a connector, and a waste fluid passage extending from the central chamber to a connector. A rotatable flow control member having a T-shaped fluid passage is disposed within the central chamber. The rotatable flow control member provides adjustable fluid communication between the inlet, blood sample, and/or waste fluid passages. The stopcock is configured with a small dead space volume in the range from about 0.02 mL to 0.20 mL. A cannula may be connected to the inlet fluid passage. The combined dead space fluid volume of the stopcock and cannula may range from about 0.03 ml to 0.24 mL.

Fluid flow control by a non-pinching valve

A pumping system comprising a pump comprising a door for access within a housing of the pump, a pump segment configured for conveying a fluid based on compression of the pump segment, a pump segment frame for preventing said pump segment from stretching, a visual placement indicator configured for facilitating in a proper placement of the pump segment frame in the housing, and a non-pinching valve configured to be disposed in the housing and to control a flow of the fluid without requiring pinching of a tube.

Flow Reversing Device

A flow switch device includes a flow switch with four ports oriented at 90 degree intervals around a center of the flow switch. The flow switch is of a type that forms selectable flow passages between ports separated by 90 degrees and blocks flow between ports separated by 180 degrees in each of multiple selected positions. Two of the ports are connected to fixed flow passages and each of the fixed flow passages defines a flow path toward a remote port separated from each of the fixed flow passages by 180 degrees so that each of the fixed flow passages and a respective remote port are positioned in pairs on opposite sides of the flow switch.

Syringe pump for automatic drug compounders

Various aspects of the subject disclosure relate to a compounder system having a cartridge that includes controllable fluid pathways. The cartridge may include a syringe pump for moving fluid and/or gas, and one or more syringe valves or rotary valves for controlling which of the controllable fluid pathways is open for flow of the fluid and/or gas.

A vascular access system may include a catheter assembly, which may include a catheter hub and a catheter extending distally from the catheter hub. The vascular access system may include an instrument advancement device coupled to the catheter assembly. The instrument advancement device may include a vascular access instrument. The vascular access instrument may include a coil formed by a flat wire wound around an axis into multiple loops. The instrument advancement device may be configured to advance the vascular access instrument from a retracted position to an advanced position beyond a distal end of the catheter. The distal end of the catheter may include a distal opening. The coil may extend through the distal opening of the catheter in response to the vascular access instrument being in the advanced position.

Fluid conduit system

In some examples, a conduit system includes a conduit defining a conduit lumen configured to provide a flow path for a fluid between a container and a medical machine. A flexible member secured to the conduit is configured to substantially occlude (e.g., close) the conduit lumen when deformed by a force acting on the flexible member toward the lumen. The conduit system includes a clamp head configured to pass through an opening defined by the conduit and exert the force on the flexible member, such that the flexible member occludes the conduit lumen. In examples, the conduit is substantially rigid conduit configured to provide a relatively constant geometry and/or flow path for the discharge of a nozzle.

11819455 · 2023-11-21 ·

There is disclosed an auxiliary pressure maintainer for maintaining intraocular pressure during eye surgery. The pressure maintainer includes a hollow infusion tube terminating in a small diameter infusion needle. A connector is provided on the infusion tube to connect the infusion tube to a source of pressurized fluid. The pressure maintainer further includes a stabilizing base adjacent the infusion needle for stabilizing the needle against the surface of the eye and a flexible wire located in or on the infusion tube and adjacent the infusion needle for maintaining a bent shape of the infusion tube. An enlarged grip is attached to the infusion tube to assist in manipulating the infusion needle through an eye wall. A stopcock may be connected to the connector to control the flow of fluid pressure through the infusion needle. There is also disclosed a method of using the auxiliary pressure maintainer with a primary pressure infusion device during an eye surgery procedure.
