IMPROVED THREE-WAY CONNECTOR
A three-way connector (1) including a body (2) with a tubular central part (3) having a first (4) and a second (5) opposite ends, the first end being open and the second end being closed, an internal cavity (6) of the tubular central part (3) communicating with internal ducts (7, 8, 9) of connection portions (10, 11, 12) which project radially from said tubular central part (3), a first (10) and a second (11) intake connection portion being able to receive fluids, at least one of these fluids being infused to a patient by means of the third, output connection portion (12), a tubular valve element (13) with an internal cavity (16) being inserted inside the internal cavity (6) of said central portion (3), and projecting from the first, open end (4) of said tubular central part (3) with a grasping portion (17) thereof with radial arms (17A). The valve element (13) has a shaped tubular body (14) which, selectively can put said connection portions (10, 11, 12) selectively into communication, or close this communication. Transversely inside said internal cavity (16) of the tubular body (14) of the valve element (13) there is present a wall (35) which divides said cavity (16) into two sections (36, 37), a hole (40) in said transverse wall (35) putting these sections of cavity (36, 37) into communication.
MEDICAL DISINFECTANT CAPS
Caps for disinfecting medical devices, and methods of disinfecting medical device using the caps, are disclosed. In general, one aspect disclosed features a cap for disinfecting a medical device, the cap comprising: a cylindrical receiving portion having an opening configured to receive a medical device, the cylindrical receiving portion comprising internal threads configured to mate with external threads of the medical device; disinfectant disposed within the cylindrical receiving portion; a cylindrical stem disposed longitudinally within the cylindrical receiving portion; and an annular sponge disposed about the cylindrical stem and contacting the disinfectant.
System and method for selective pressure-controlled therapeutic delivery
A treatment system includes a guide sheath, and a catheter provided with a pressure-controlled element. The pressure-control element preferably includes an expanded configuration adapted to extend across a small feeder vessel branching from the splenic vein. The pressure-control element is positioned with the feeder vessel, and a therapeutic agent is delivered under pressure directly into the feeder vessel, where it is forced to penetrate deep into tissue. Pressure responsive elements for monitoring intravascular pressure are also provided to time delivery of the therapeutic agent for maximum uptake by the target organ. Methods for treating tissues and organs via vascular pathways are provided.
Formulation for Gastrointestinal Marking
An ink formulation for gastrointestinal tattooing includes water, carbon black, and hyaluronic acid.
Split dilator aspiration system
A split dilator aspiration system is disclosed. The system includes a catheter, having an elongate, flexible tubular body with a proximal end, a distal end, a side wall defining a central lumen, and a handle on the proximal end. A dilator is advanceable through the central lumen, the dilator having an elongate body, cannulated to receive a guidewire, and an axially extending split along at least a portion of the elongate body, configured to allow removal of a portion of the dilator laterally from the guidewire.
STOPCOCK, HOUSING OF A STOPCOCK, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A HOUSING OF A STOPCOCK
A medical endoscope is an instrument having an elongate, tubular shaft. The instrument is commonly provided with a flushing device. The flushing liquid can be guided through corresponding separate liquid channels. In order to be able to control the flow of the liquid, the liquid channels have a stopcock. The stopcocks here are of complex construction, and for this reason both the production thereof and the cleaning thereof are complicated. The invention includes a stopcock and also a housing and a method for producing the housing, by way of which the production and the cleaning of the housing are simplified. This is achieved in that a housing and at least one spring element for form-fitting fixing of a plug in a position in the interior space of the housing are manufactured integrally from a single part, that is to say in one part.
LAMPREY LOCK DEVICE
The present invention provides a lamprey lock device configured to provide a fluid transfer between two devices or objects. In one embodiment, lamprey lock device of the present invention improves fluid transfer by maximizing the inner diameter of connections between two objects including but not limited to a catheter, tubing, veress needles, trocars, syringes, or gas/fluid delivery systems.
INJECTION PORT PROTECTOR
A shielded injection port for use in an intravenous (IV) medication delivery system includes a single piece spherical shaped body having a hollow interior. The spherical shaped body is truncated, at a location above a plane that passes through a center of the spherical shaped body and defines a diameter of the spherical shaped body, so as to define a first opening formed at a first end of the spherical shaped body for receiving a fluid delivery member into the hollow interior. The shielded injection port also includes an injection port body that is integrally formed with the spherical shaped body. The injection port body has a first end that is contained within a bottom half of the hollow interior of the spherical shaped body such that the spherical shaped body is configured to surround and extend above the first end of the injection port body.
MEDICAL DEVICE INSUFFLATION CONNECTION
A medical device includes a device body and an insufflation fitting coupled to and extending from the device body. The insufflation fitting includes an annular low-flow fitting and an annular high-flow fitting. The annular low-flow fitting includes a radially outward surface generally reverse of a first inner sealing surface. The inner sealing surface defines a flow passageway for insufflation gas. The annular high-flow fitting includes a second inner sealing surface extending around and radially offset from the radially outward surface of the low-flow fitting.
Closed stopcock
A stopcock, comprising a housing element defining a central bore and at least first, second and third ports; and a handle element which is selectably positionable relative to the housing element; at least one of the housing element and the handle element defining: a first fluid flow passageway communicating between two of the at least first, second and third ports; a second fluid flow passageway communicating between at least two of the at least first, second and third ports, and a fluid flow guide associated with the second fluid flow passageway, the fluid flow guide extending radially towards an inner facing wall of the central bore.
