A system may include a flow sensor and a base. The flow sensor may include a flow tube, a sensor configured to characterize at least one attribute of a fluid in the flow tube, and an electrical contact in electrical communication with the sensor. The flow tube may include a fluid inlet at a first end of the flow tube, a fluid outlet at a second end of the flow tube, a fluid injection port between the first and second ends of the flow tube, and a valve configured to control a flow of a fluid in the flow tube. The base may include a processor, an electrical contact in electrical communication with the processor, a short range wireless communication device, and a display. The flow sensor electrical contact may be in electrical communication with the base electrical contact when the flow sensor is connected to the base.

VALVE ASSEMBLY

A valve assembly embodiment includes first and second valve devices and a coupling mechanism. Each of the first and second valve devices can include first and second fluid pathways and first and second valve members respectively positioned at the first and second fluid pathways. Both the first and second valve members can have an open position that permits fluid flow and a closed position that prevents fluid flow along the first and second fluid pathways past the first and second valve members. The coupling mechanism can couple to each of the first and second valve members. When the valve assembly is actuated, the coupling mechanism can be configured to transition one or both of the first and second valve members between the open and closed positions.

Infusion connection lines for use in infusion sets are provided. The infusion connection line includes a pump infusion tube having connectors at both ends and an indicator element for showing the installation direction within an infusion pump is disposed between the connectors. The infusion connection line is configured to connect a gravity IV set to any type of infusion pump while improving the pump infusion accuracy and minimizing tube leakage or breakage over directly connecting the gravity IV set to the infusion pump. The infusion connection line may be disconnected and disposed of after use without requiring disposal of the rest of the pump IV infusion set and/or components.

Stopcock

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention there is provided a stopcock including a housing element defining at least first, second and third ports, a handle element which is selectably positionable relative to the housing element, at least one fluid passageway communicating between at least two of the at least first, second and third ports, the at least one fluid passageway being selectably defined by at least one of the housing element and the handle element, the at least one fluid passageway being configured for enabling flushing an internal volume of at least one of the first, second and third ports by a fluid flow which does not flow entirely through the port whose internal volume is being flushed.

INFUSION PUMP SYSTEM

An infusion system comprises an infusion pump that comprises an input unit and a display unit. The input unit is adapted for adjusting a value of at least one parameter for controlling operation of the infusion pump and/or an infusion process, and the display unit displays the value of the at least one parameter. The input unit comprises at least one slide bar adapted to be touched by a user's finger and moved along its length to change the value of the parameter, wherein movement in a first direction increases the value of the parameter and in a reversed, second direction decreases the value. The slide bar is adapted so that the rate of change of the parameter value correlates with the speed of the finger movement and in an idle mode is decelerated in a similar way as under influence of an inertia load and/or a friction.
