A system and method for forming an easily-erectable modular business cubicle is provided. The system/method involves the use of a rectangularly-shaped tile that has distinct connectors on each of its four sides. On one tile side is a single coupling connector and on the opposite is a multiple coupling connector. On the top is a connector comprising a plurality of elongated parallel grooves and on the bottom is a connector comprising a plurality of elongated parallel tongues corresponding to the top connector. These integrated connectors allow a plurality of these tiles to be releasably coupled to each other, both in a horizontal direction and a vertical direction. In addition, since no tools or separate connectors are required, a variety of cubicle styles can be easily formed and then later the cubicle can be dis-assembled or reconfigured into a new cubicle style. Tiles of different heights, but with the same connector configurations are also provided.

A barrier system for partitioning a space is formed by panels which interlock with each other to provide a barrier that is fire rated. The interlocking panels are assembled in the barrier in columns which include at least two panels. A first horizontal joint between two panels of the barrier in a first column is vertically offset from a horizontal joint between two panels of the barrier in a second column that is adjacent to the first column at a vertical joint. Each panel is made of a laminated structure including a supporting frame around a core layer, barrier layers on opposed surfaces of the core and skin layers on the barrier layers. Tongue and groove construction interlocks the panels and a locking structure formed by a tapered hook in the groove engaging into a slot of the tongue locks horizontally adjacent panels to each other.

FIRE-RETARDANT PANEL WITH FRAME

Fire-retardant panels that include: a frame with multiple holes that reduce heat conduction through the panel; or a frame that includes two portions separated by a layer of fire-resistant material (e.g., gypsum, calcium silicate, or gypsum board). Some embodiments include skins (e.g., sheet metal) or insulation (e.g., between skin and fire-resistant material, for instance, within the frame). In particular embodiments, the fire-resistant material is (e.g., midway) between: two skins, two layers of insulation, two portions of the frame, or a combination thereof. The portions of the frame can be: sheet metal, attached (e.g., screwed) to the skin(s) or to each other, or extend around the perimeter. The frame can include: various elongated members, (e.g., parallel) bends, or holes that are: in at least one row, elongated, or slots (e.g., parallel to each other or to the skin).

A modular wall system includes a plurality of extruded wall panels each having opposing first and second surfaces and opposing first and second joiner side edges. Each joiner side edge has an edge surface adjacent the first surface, another edge surface adjacent the second surface and a tongue or groove disposed therebetween. The edge surfaces have an angle less than 90 degrees with respect to the first or second surface, respectively. The first joiner side edge is insertable into the second joiner side edge of another wall panel, with a flush fit, for interconnecting the wall panels. Each panel also has opposing top and bottom edges and a plurality of ribs connecting and perpendicular to the first surface and the second surface.

Dry Partition Wall System and Method for Installation of a Dry Partition Wall System of this Kind

The invention relates to a dry partition wall system (1) comprising a plurality of wall elements (2; 2); a floor-side connection element (3) extending over several wall elements (2; 2), a ceiling-side connection element (4) extending over several wall elements (2; 2), wherein the plurality of wall elements (2; 2) are arranged side by side and are retained on the floor-side connection element (3) and on the ceiling side-connection element (4) and thus jointly form a partition wall, and wherein the wall elements (2; 2) are of multi-layer design. This dry partition wall system (1) is characterized in that each wall element (2) comprises a planking (22, 23) on both sides, with an insulating layer arranged in between, that one of the plankings (23) is of multi-part design, and that the plankings (22, 23) encompass the floor-side connection element (3) and the ceiling-side connection element (4) at the outer side.
