TENSIONING DEVICE FOR A DRIVE TRAIN
20220235597 · 2022-07-28 ·

A tensioning device for a door operating system includes a pulley carriage on which a pulley of the door operating system is mounted for rotation, the pulley carriage being movable relative to a track of the door operating system. The tensioning device further includes an adjuster configured to move the pulley carriage relative to the track and thereby alter a level of tension in a longitudinal drive component of the door operating system, the adjuster of the tensioning device being accessible from an end of the tensioning device facing a track operator end of the door operating system. The tensioning device also includes a resilient member operatively engaged with the adjuster, the resilient member configured to provide damping of forces experienced by the longitudinal drive component.

Spring Assisted Overhead Door

A spring assisted overhead door is disclosed. An overhead door is movable between an open and a closed position. In the open position the overhead door is in a horizontal orientation and rests on a track that is also horizontal. Weight of the door in this position may be insufficient to initiate downward movement of the overhead door. A spring is used to urge the overhead door along the track until a release point at which point the overhead door is at least partially on a downwardly oriented portion of the track where gravity can pull the overhead door along the track.

DOOR CONTROL SYSTEM
20230323717 · 2023-10-12 ·

A door control system is provided. The control system includes a controller configured to control a door via a motor. The motor is powered by a battery and bypasses the controller via relays and/or switches when power to the controller is disconnected. The current of the motor may be monitored and/or displayed to confirm that the door is balanced.

Sectional lifting door system
20230313592 · 2023-10-05 ·

The present invention relates to a sectional lifting door system. When the system is in normal operation, a door operator drives a cable drum to wind or unwind a cable for lifting or lowering slats. During a process of lowering the slats, if the slats is stopped or slowed unexpectedly (e.g. the slats hit an obstacle below), the door operator is disconnected from a shaft automatically. At this time, even if the door operator is still activated, the shaft does not rotate, the cable drum does not unwind the cable so that a certain tension force can be maintained on the cable and that the cable is prevented from loosening from the drum, thereby preventing the slats from falling off. Also, it can avoid the situation that the weight of the slats is completely applied to the obstacle because the cable drum continuously unwinds the cable.

Cable tension monitor

A sensor apparatus for a movable barrier system having a rotatable drum and an elongate member that winds up on and pays out from an external surface of the rotatable drum. The sensor apparatus includes a base portion, a sensing portion, and a controller. The sensing portion senses a first spaced apart proximity of the elongate member relative to the sensing portion and a second spaced apart proximity of the elongate member relative to the sensing portion. The controller detects a change in the proximity of the elongate member relative to the sensing portion without the elongate member contacting the sensing portion.
