METHOD FOR FEEDING POULTRY
A method for feeding poultry is provided and includes the steps obtaining a feed supplement composition including an aqueous ethanol extract isolated from leafy parts of Amaranthus hybridus by using a mixture of water and ethanol as an extractive agent, in which mixture an amount of ethanol is within a range of 0.1-85 vol %, admixing the composition into a basal poultry feed or drinking water in a predetermined amount of at least 0.003 g/kg, and administering the resulting mixture to poultry in accordance with predetermined dosage regimen. The composition may be also utilized as a phytogenic feed supplement for poultry, depending on dosage regime, administration duration, and on age and category of poultry stock.
METHODS OF PROCESSING A FAVA BEAN COMPOSITION
A method of processing a fava bean composition is disclosed, the method comprising the steps of: i. providing a fava bean composition comprising fava beans, and ii. subjecting the fava bean composition to a betaglucosidase and at least one lactobacillus plantarum bacteria under dosage, time and temperature conditions selected so as to be sufficient to reduce the content of at least one of the compounds vicine and convicine, and preferably also at least one of the compounds divicine and isouramil, by at least 90 wt % as compared to the content of said compounds in the fava bean composition provided in step i. A fava bean composition obtained by the method as well as methods of producing food compositions using the fava bean composition and food compositions thus produced are also disclosed.
METHOD OF PREPARING PREBIOTIC DIETARY FIBER AND PROBIOTIC-FIBRE COMPLEXES
A method of manufacturing prebiotic dietary fibers and probiotic encapsulated or associated material capable of affording thermal or mechanical stresses resulting from industrial feed processing as well as compositions including prebiotic dietary fibers and probiotic-fiber complexes.
FRACTIONATED STILLAGE SEPARATION
This disclosure describes methods to separate solids from liquids in a production facility. A process separates components in the process stream by using a mechanical device to separate the solids from the liquids based on a density difference. The process produces the liquids and solids, which may be further processed to create valuable animal feed products.

FOWL PRODUCTION BY ADMINISTRATION OF A SYNTHETIC BIOENSEMBLE OF MICROBES OR PURIFIED STRAINS THEREOF
The disclosure relates to isolated microorganisms-including novel strains of the microorganisms-microbial ensembles, and compositions comprising the same. Furthermore, the disclosure teaches methods of utilizing the described microorganisms, microbial ensembles, and compositions comprising the same, in methods for modulating the production of poultry, disease resistance, and egg yield. In particular aspects, the disclosure provides methods of increasing feed efficiency, and methods of preventing colonization of pathogenic microbes.
FERMENTATION BROTHS AND THEIR USE
Summary
According to the invention it was found out that fermentation broths of probiotic microorganisms show beneficial characteristics which make them suitable as feed additives as well as means for improving the properties of other feed additives.
Setting degree of maceration based on forage nutritive values
A method of preparing a feed ration for an animal includes storing a cut crop material in an accumulation having an oxygen barrier. The cut crop material is fermented within the accumulation to form a silage material. A nutritive value of the silage material is determined with a nutrition sensor. A desired amount of maceration of the silage material is determined based on the determined nutritive value of the silage material. The silage material is then macerated with a mechanical macerator to achieve the desired amount of maceration. The macerated silage material is then combined with other feed materials to define the feed ration, and may then be fed to the animal.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREPARING A FEED RATION BASED ON DEGREE OF MACERATION
A method of preparing a feed ration for an animal includes determining an initial nutritive value of a forage material, and then macerating the forage material with a mechanical macerator. An actual amount of maceration of the forage material achieved by the mechanical macerator is then determined with a macerator sensor. The initial nutritive value may then be corrected to define a corrected nutritive value that accounts for the change in digestibility of the forage material caused by maceration. A formulation for the feed ration may then be defined or determined based on the corrected nutritive value of the forage material.
