An insulation product demonstrating enhanced insulative properties is described herein. Generally, the insulation product comprises a fibrous insulation component and a phase change material. In certain embodiments, the phase change material may take the form of a layer disposed on a surface of the fibrous insulation component or interposed within the fibrous insulation component.

SELF-STICK INSULATION AND METHODS

A method of using a self-stick insulation. The method includes providing a piece of insulation product with an adhesive coating. The adhesive coating includes polystyrene-maleic anhydride (SMA) and/or polyacrylic acid (PAA); an alcohol amine; and at least one of a polyvinyl alcohol and a starch. The adhesive coating is then activated with liquid water. Once the adhesive coating is active, the insulation product is attached to a surface with the adhesive coating.

Disclosed is a heat insulator comprising a substrate comprising of a bulk of silica-based inorganic fiber containing a hydroxyl group; a metallic or ceramic infrared mediator held on at least a part of one surface of the substrate; and a silica cured product holding the infrared mediator on/in the substrate. As the infrared mediator, a metal foil or a ceramic particle may be used. This heat insulator exhibits excellent heat insulating performance in a high temperature range of 600 C. or more, and can be molded into a three-dimensional shape which can be directly mounted to a structure.

A precursor to form an impaling clip, and an impaling clip formed therefrom. The impaling clip is configured for mounting an acoustic panel on a structural component, e.g., a wall stud, of a building. The impaling clip includes a base member from which a pair of prongs project upward perpendicular to the plane of the base member. The base member includes at least one hole for receipt of a fastener, e.g., a screw, to fixedly secure the base member of the clip to the structural component. Each prong includes a leg portion terminating in pointed head and outwardly projecting under-cut barbs configured to pierce through the back surface of the panel to lock the prong within the panel so that it is resistant to removal.

An insulation support system preferably includes an edge-folded ceiling liner sheet, an encapsulated package and a plurality of compressible thermal spacers. The edge-folded ceiling liner sheet includes opposed folded-up edges. The folded-up edges have sufficient length to clear pinch points along structural beams. The edge-folded ceiling liner sheet is fan-folded for retention in the encapsulated package. A pressure absorbing expansion spacer prevents roof or wall panel rumble noises and may be applied directly to roof or wall structural members, or may include a snap clip bonded to a pressure absorbing expansion spacer material. A bottom of the pressure absorbing expansion material is bonded to a top of the snap clip. The snap clip is attached to flanges of purlins or girts eliminating the need for stand-off roof panel clips, rigid thermal blocks and severe compression of an extra layer of blanket fiber glass insulation.
