Slatted door with increased impact resistance

A slatted door includes a plurality of interengaged slats, and end members arranged at ends of respective slats. The end members and the slats are configured and arranged so that, when the slats are engaged with one another and with respective end members, at least one lateral reinforcement impact distribution structure is formed. The impact distribution structure is configured to absorb, distribute and/or redirect impact force in a direction along the length of the slats.

A conveyor belt for conveying articles along a conveyor path comprises a plurality of slat members disposed parallel to each other and disposed transversely with respect to the conveyor path, wherein leading and trailing edge portions of the slat members are angled downwardly with respect to the conveying surface upon which articles being conveyed are supported so as to prevent edge portions of the articles being conveyed from being interposed between the leading and trailing edge portions of the slat members so as not to be pinched by adjacent ones of the leading and trailing edge portions of adjacent slat members.

PET DOOR SYSTEM HAVING SEMI-FLEXIBLE PET DOOR

A pet door having a casing and a door assembly contained within the casing, the door assembly having a plurality of rotatably interlocking segments such that the door assembly is rigid in a direction along an axis of rotation of the interlocking segments and flexible along a second axis perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the interlocking segments, and a plurality of end caps for preventing horizontal sliding of individual interlocking segments, the end caps having a first surface which engages the end of the interlocking segments and a recess surface spaced away from the end of the interlocking segment to allow free rotation of the interlocking segment not engaging the first surface of the end cap. The pet door further includes a magnet positioned in the end caps which are aligned with a corresponding magnet positioned along the sides of the casing member to individually position the interlocking segments in the casing.

Slat assembly

A slat assembly for a roll top cover enables an improved sealing arrangement and reduced frictional forces. The assembly includes: a plurality of successive and interconnected slats, each of the slats comprising opposed and adjoining first and second ends and upper and lower surfaces; and first and second hinge elements disposed at the respective first and second ends of each slat and integral therewith, the first and second hinge elements configured to define a hinge arrangement that facilitates relative pivotal movement between the slats; wherein the slat assembly is operable between extended and retracted positions.

A base slat pry stopper, such as a base slat locking bracket, for locking a rolling shutter curtain covering an opening of a structure is disclosed. The base slat pry stopper may include a bracket base plate mounted to an opening bottom wall on an interior side of the shutter curtain, and a base slat engagement portion extending upward from the bracket base plate and above a top surface of the opening bottom wall. When the shutter curtain is unrolled to cover the opening, the base slat engagement portion engages the base slat to prevent the base slat from deflecting upward away from the opening bottom wall when a force applied from an exterior side of the shutter curtain causes the base slat to deflect toward the interior side of the structure and the shutter curtain. The base slat pry stopper may be permanently or removably installed.

Closure system

A closure system may include a closure movable between an extended state and a retracted state. The closure may be configured to at least partially obstruct an opening in the extended state and allow access through the opening in the retracted state. The closure may include a first portion and a second portion opposite the first portion. The closure may deflect by a first deflection distance when a vertical force is applied to the closure. The closure system may include a strap coupled to the first portion of the closure. The closure with the strap coupled thereto may deflect by a second deflection distance when the vertical force is applied to the closure. The first deflection distance may be at least 100 percent more than the second deflection distance.

BULLET RESISTANT ROLLING OVERHEAD DOOR
20240125170 · 2024-04-18 ·

A bullet resistant and impact resistant overhead rolling door is created from a plurality of interconnected panel members formed from inner and outer shell members having interengagable barbs to secure the two shell members with one another when assembled. The two shell members create an internal cavity within the panel for housing ballistic material, such as a sheet of pressed ballistic material, insulating foam and/or a sheet of metal to increase ballistic resistance of the panel. A sheet of ballistic material can be secured between the interengaged barbs of adjacent panel members to serve as a hinge and permit pivotal movement therebetween. The shell members can be formed from metal with the ballistic material providing bullet resistant protection, but are preferably formed of 6063 aluminum to enhance the bullet resistance of the panel members.

Shutter slat

A slat for use in a rolling shutter is provided. The slat comprises a hooking track located at a first edge of a body and a receiving track located at a second edge of the body. Illustratively, the hooking track has a hook-shaped profile, and the receiving track comprises a lip member and a guard member defining a space adapted to receive therein an engaging track of an adjacent slat. The hooking track and the receiving track are designed to minimize the space required for the rolling shutter to be retracted around a spindle.

UNITARY EXTRUDED SHELL FOR ASSEMBLING NON-INSULATED AND INSULATED SLATS FOR ROLLING DOORS AND METHOD OF FORMING SAME

An elongate shell for forming a slat for a rolling door includes a planar portion having parallel first and second longitudinal edges and formed along the first longitudinal edge with a first arcuate segment and formed along an opposing second longitudinal edge with second arcuate segment, the first and second arcuate segments being positioned on the same side of said planar portion and configured and dimensioned to enable the second arcuate segment of a first shell to be received with clearance within a first arcuate segment of second shell identical to the first shell to form an articulated joint hingedly connecting the elongate shells so they can be pivoted relative to each other. Two identical shells can be oriented to be assembled to form a double-walled slat with longitudinal hooks or claws for assembling a plurality of slats, with or without insulation, into a curtain assembly for a rolling door.
