INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
An internal combustion engine, including a piston, a cylinder, and an output shaft, wherein the piston is arranged for reciprocating motion within the cylinder, driven by combustion, and the piston is coupled to the output shaft by a coupling such that said reciprocating motion of the piston drives rotation of the output shaft, the coupling being arranged such that the piston has sinusoidal motion when plotted against rotational angle of the output shaft.
FOUR PISTON SCOTCH YOKE ACTUATOR
A Scotch yoke actuator includes a housing formed with four piston bores spaced equally 90° from each other, a shaft with four yokes, each of the yokes having a slot, and four pistons including two pairs of 180° opposing pistons, one pair of the opposing pistons being orthogonal to the other pair of the opposing pistons. Each of the pistons is arranged for linear motion in one of the piston bores. Each of the pistons includes a piston rod which includes a piston pin which is slidable in the slot. Linear motion of the pistons in the piston bores causes rotation of the shaft.

Liquid column generator
A generator is described comprising in particular a vertical supply column that can be filled with a certain quantity of liquid, an intake valve disposed at a base of the vertical supply column, and a leaktight tank communicating with the vertical supply column via the intake valve, which leaktight tank can be filled with liquid. The generator also comprises an exhaust valve disposed on the leaktight tank and capable of releasing pressure generated in the leaktight tank, and a piston-forming device disposed inside the leaktight tank so as to be immersed in the liquid contained in the leaktight tank. This piston-forming device is capable of being set in reciprocating movement between an upper position and a lower position, the piston-forming device comprising a first, float-forming portion capable of bringing the piston-forming device into the upper position and a second portion forming an output shaft. The generator further comprises a converter device coupled to the output shaft, which converter device is capable of converting the reciprocating movement of the piston-forming device into mechanical or electrical energy. The generator is configured in such a way that, in operation, the leaktight tank is filled with liquid, and in such a way as to repeat a sequence of operating phases in order to induce the reciprocating movement of the piston-forming device.

Compressed Fluid Motor, and Compressed Fluid Powered Vehicle
A compressed fluid motor comprising at least one solenoid valve, motor timing sensor, and controller for operating the motor.
Multiple cylinder engine
An internal combustion engine may include a first piston reciprocatingly disposed in a first cylinder, a combustion chamber fluidly coupled with the first cylinder, and an ignition source at least partially disposed within the combustion chamber. An intake valve may provide selective fluid communication between an intake system and the combustion chamber, and an exhaust valve may provide selective fluid communication between an exhaust system and the combustion chamber. A second piston may be reciprocatingly disposed within a second cylinder. A crankshaft may be coupled with the first piston and the second piston for rotational motion associated with reciprocating movement of the first piston and the second piston.
High efficiency steam engine and steam expander
A high efficiency steam engine or steam expander includes a cylinder, cylinder head and piston in which cylinder clearance volume is zero or nearly zero together with a negligible amount of compression such that any pressure in the cylinder clearance volume just before the power stroke is as low as ambient pressure or condenser pressure to provide superior thermal efficiency in a compact compound engine having a high pressure expansion chamber within the piston and low pressure chamber in the cylinder. The inlet valve is opened slightly by piston movement and a steam assist force then drives it to its fully open position. Steam passes from the high pressure chamber to the low pressure chamber through a transfer valve located in the head of the piston and steam is released through an automatic exhaust valve in the cylinder head.
