A scroll compressor includes a scroll compression element including a movable scroll, a drive shaft configured to allow the movable scroll to rotate, a boss portion, and a sliding bearing. The boss portion is connected to a back surface of the movable scroll. The boss portion is configured to rotatably support an upper end portion of the drive shaft. The upper end of the drive shaft is configured as an eccentric shaft portion. The sliding bearing is provided between the boss portion and the eccentric shaft portion. An axially central portion of the boss portion is more rigid than a connection portion of the boss portion connected to the movable scroll. The boss portion is shaped so that the central portion projects outward.

Scroll compressor

A scroll compressor is provided that may include an orbiting scroll having an orbiting wrap, and which performs an orbiting motion; and a fixed scroll having a fixed wrap to form a compression chamber including a suction chamber, an intermediate pressure chamber, and a discharge chamber, by being engaged with the orbiting wrap. In a state in which the orbiting scroll and the fixed scroll are concentric with each other, when a distance between the orbiting wrap and the fixed wrap is defined as an orbiting radius, there exists an offset section having an interval larger than the orbiting radius, between a side surface of the orbiting wrap and a side surface of the fixed wrap which faces the orbiting wrap. With such a configuration, even if the fixed scroll or the orbiting scroll is transformed due to thermal expansion, interference between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at a portion having a large transformation amount may be prevented. This may prevent a frictional loss or abrasion between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap. Further, this may restrict or minimize a gap between the fixed wrap and the orbiting wrap at an opposite side to the suction chamber, resulting in enhanced compression efficiency.

Scroll expander with back pressure chamber

A scroll expander, comprising: a housing; and an expansion mechanism provided in the housing. A back pressure chamber in fluid communication with a medium pressure chamber is provided in the expansion mechanism and is provided with at least one passage in fluid communication from the back pressure chamber to a low pressure region; the passage is configured such that: the passage is opened when the pressure in the back pressure chamber is lower than the pressure of the low pressure region, and is closed when the pressure in the back pressure chamber is higher than or equal to the pressure of the low pressure region. The scroll expander can avoid the problem of being unable to be started and to operate normally; and the scroll expander is simple in structure, easy to process and manufacture, and high in cost effectiveness.

A scroll compressor is provided in which one of a fixed scroll or an orbiting scroll is provided with at least one guide groove, and the other is provided with a self-rotation prevention member inserted into the at least one guide groove to revolve in the at least one guide groove and configured to prevent self-rotation of the orbiting scroll.

ROTARY VANE INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

Rotary vane internal combustion engine comprises of two side-by-side rotors, placed in a cylindrical housing, wherein each rotor has at least two radial vanes rigidly attached to the rotor that form chambers for intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. Each rotor alternately engages with a shaft by overrunning one-way clutches and is held from turning back, through the damper, mounted on a corresponding flywheel and forming a part of the flywheel assembly, which is rigidly attached on the shaft. The assembled rotors from the outside are rigidly closed by flanges on each of which is mounted at least one blade. The blades are positioned into formed cavities between the rotors and caps of the housing, thereby forming two cooling cavities through which coolant circulates around rotors through openings in the housing and through longitudinal grooves in the shaft. On the vanes are mounted cylindrical and conical seals, which remove the need for lubrication.

Scroll compressor with cover member defining rear surface adjacent space

Provided is an efficient scroll compressor capable of suppressing deformation of a fixed scroll during operation. The scroll compressor includes: a fixed scroll (30) including a fixed-side end plate (32) and a spiral fixed-side wrap (34) protruding from a front surface (32a) of the fixed-side end plate; a movable scroll (40) including a spiral movable-side wrap (44) combined with the fixed-side wrap to form a compression chamber (Sc); and a cover member (60) disposed in a high-pressure space on a rear surface (32b) side of the fixed-side end plate and attached to the fixed scroll. The fixed-side end plate includes a compression chamber adjacent portion (33) at which the front surface of the fixed-side end plate faces the compression chamber. The compression chamber adjacent portion includes a high-pressure adjacent portion (33a) disposed at a central portion of the compression chamber adjacent portion, and an intermediate- and low-pressure adjacent portion (33b). At the high-pressure adjacent portion, the front surface of the fixed-side end plate faces a high-pressure compression chamber. The intermediate- and low-pressure adjacent portion is disposed on the outer side of the high-pressure adjacent portion. The cover member defines a low- or intermediate-pressure rear surface adjacent space (S3) that faces at least a part of a rear surface of the intermediate- and low-pressure adjacent portion in the compression chamber adjacent portion of the fixed-side end plate.
