HYBRID PNEUMATIC / INTERNAL COMBUSTION ROTARY ENGINE
A hybrid engine comprises a housing and at least one rotor. The engine employs tongue and groove system to generate rotational movement. As the rotor pivots, reciprocating tongues slide into and out of the grooves. In pneumatic mode, introduction of compressed air forwardly into the grooves drives the rotor. Meanwhile, the air exhaust is cleared from the grooves rearwardly. In internal combustion mode, compression and air intake strokes start and end at the same time in a groove. Combustion and exhaust strokes occur simultaneously in the next groove arriving at the combustion chamber.
Seal assembly for a rotary engine housing
An engine housing includes a rotor housing body, a side housing body a side plate and a seal assembly. The rotor housing body extends about an axis to form a rotor cavity. The rotor housing body extends between and to a first axial end and a second axial end. The side housing body is disposed at the first axial end. The side plate includes an inner side, an outer side, and a perimeter edge extending from the inner side to the outer side. The seal assembly includes a support ring and a spacer. The support ring and the spacer extend about the axis. The support ring is mounted to the perimeter edge by a braze joint. The spacer extends between and to a first axial spacer end and a second axial spacer end. The first axial spacer end is disposed at the support ring and the outer side.

Rotary combustion engine block sealing
A block sealing of a rotary combustion engine having a rotating block with radially located cylinders and pistons and an outside stationary case is disclosed. Transverse and/or lateral sealings located in the stationary case fit tight to an outer surface of the block. In circular grooves, a lateral sealing of radius sealing strips with springs situated between adjacent transverse sealing strips placed in transverse grooves is located. Couplings with notches and pressure springs are located in bores of the stationary case for inserting radius sealing strips and transverse sealing strips. The radius sealing strip is provided with a cut-out for interlocking of a stop connected with the stationary case. In the side of the radius sealing strip, a longitudinal groove in which a flexible sealing element and/or transverse sealing strip is made, and at its side, it is provided with a groove in which another flexible sealing element is located.

Pump having a housing and a rotor capable of rotating in the housing
A pump includes a housings and a rotor capable of rotating within the housing. The rotor engages an interior surface of the housing in use, with at least two radially-inward shaped surfaces on the rotor forming respective chambers with the interior surface. In use, the chambers transport fluid from an inlet in the housing to an outlet in the housing as the rotor rotates. A seal provided between the inlet and the outlet will engage each of the shaped surfaces to prevent fluid passing from the outlet to the inlet as each shaped surface travels from the outlet to the inlet. The rotor includes a surface portion extending axially and circumferentially between respective edges of the shaped surfaces. On planes normal to an axis of rotation of the rotor, the surface portion of the rotor has a greater curvature than that of the interior surface of the housing.
