A rotary compressor includes a cylinder having a vane slot and a compression chamber, a shaft having an eccentric portion and configured to perpendicularly pass through a center of the compression chamber, a roller having a coupling groove and configured to orbit in the compression chamber by rotation of the shaft, and a vane having a vane hinge coupled to the coupling groove and a vane body being inserted into the vane slot and configured to divide the compression chamber into a discharge space and a suction space. A shape of the discharge-sided groove close to the discharge space and a shape of the suction-sided groove close to the suction space are asymmetrically formed between the vane hinge and the vane body with respect to the a central axis of the vane.

A rotary compressor may include an outflow passage through which refrigerant flows out of a compression space. The outflow passage may include at least one first outflow guide portion disposed in a main bearing or a sub bearing, at least one second outflow guide portion formed through between both axial ends of a roller, and at least one third outflow guide portion disposed in a bearing opposite to the bearing with the at least one first outflow guide portion based on the roller, to communicate with the at least one first outflow guide portion through the at least one second outflow guide portion. This may minimize an amount of refrigerant remaining in the compression space, thereby enhancing compression efficiency. A pressure difference on a front of a vane may also be eliminated, which may suppress or prevent vane jumping, thereby reducing wear of the vane or cylinder. As the outflow passage is periodically opened, refrigerant leakage may be suppressed or prevented during a compression stroke, thereby preventing under-compression.

At least one contour also having pivots is connected to the first gearbox pivots by two linkages exterior to the first gearbox. The contour has a convex outer surface that cooperates with an inwardly facing curved surface of a housing to form a working volume. A gearbox mechanism including gears, crankshafts, bearings and connecting rods creates an oscillatory motion 2 times per revolution in the linkages such that the contour is forced to navigate about the arcuate cavity without contacting the cavity at a high rate of rotating speed.

In the vane pump, the side member is provided with a back pressure opening portion opening at a sliding-contact surface in sliding contact with the rotor, the back pressure opening portion being configured to communicate with the back pressure chambers, and a protruding opening portion protruding along the rotating direction of the rotor from an end portion of the back pressure opening portion on the communication-finishing side. An inner-side inner circumferential surface of the protruding opening portion is connected to an inner-side inner circumferential surface of the back pressure opening portion.
